NEET was introduced with three principal promises: (1) reduce the burden, (2) eliminate commercialisation, and (3) improve standards.

On every one of these counts, #NEET has failed. It has merely shifted the centre of learning from schools to coaching centres.

The problem with NEET has always been structural, not merely procedural. Recent events have vindicated that concern.

The ongoing student protests must serve as a wake-up call for the Union Government. It's time to trust the states. It's time to abolish NEET.

For us, the demand to abolish NEET is a principled stand rooted in social justice. The protests unfolding across the country only reinforce what the DMK has consistently warned about for years, a centralized examination vulnerable to repeated irregularities cannot decide the future of millions of students.

From day one, Thalaivar M.K. Stalin and the DMK have opposed NEET because it undermines equal opportunity, disadvantages students from government schools, rural backgrounds, and economically weaker sections, and erodes the rights of states in education. Tamil Nadu's voice has always been clear, the only permanent solution is the complete abolition of NEET.

Abolishing NEET is a commitment to protecting students, upholding social justice, and ensuring that merit is determined by consistent academic performance, not by a single flawed examination.

NEET is fundamentally unfair.

While I cannot speak for every state, I can certainly speak for Tamil Nadu. Every political party in Tamil Nadu except the BJP opposes NEET. The Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly has repeatedly passed resolutions and Bills seeking exemption from NEET.

Stop defending the indefensible. #ScrapNEET once and for all.

The students' protest in New Delhi has now captured the attention of the entire country.

We were the first to warn that #NEET was designed to enable large-scale irregularities. That is why the DMK has opposed NEET from the very beginning, consistently pointing out the the dangers it poses.

Tamil Nadu, which led India in defending social justice and paved the way for the First Constitutional Amendment, has only one demand: #AbolitionOfNEET.

More than any other demand, the abolition of NEET must be at the heart of these protests. Only scrapping NEET will provide a lasting solution to all these problems. #BanNEET #SaveStudents

‘தமிழர்கள் வாழும் பகுதிக்கு தமிழ்நாடு என்று கூட பெயர் சூட்ட முடியவில்லையே’ என்ற தந்தை பெரியாரின் ஏக்கத்தையும், சங்கரலிங்கனாரின் தியாகத்தையும், தமிழ்ப்பெரியோர்கள் பலரின் விருப்பத்தையும் ஆட்சிக்கு வந்த நான்கே மாதங்களில் நிறைவேற்றிக் காட்டியது நம் திராவிட முன்னேற்றக் கழகம்.

அன்றைக்கு தீர்மானத்தை நிறைவேற்றி, ‘தமிழ்நாடு' என்று அண்ணா அவர்கள் மும்முறை முழங்க, 'வாழ்க... வாழ்க...' என்ற உறுப்பினர்களின் முழக்கத்தால் சட்டமன்றமே உணர்ச்சிப் பெருக்கால் தத்தளித்தது.

அந்த இனிய தினத்தை தமிழ்நாடு நாளாக திராவிட மாடல் ஆட்சியில் நமது கழகத் தலைவர் @mkstalin அவர்கள் அறிவித்தார்கள்.

முதல்ல என்ன மொழி சொல்லி தருவிங்கன்னு கேட்டா; ஹிந்தி, அப்புறம் ஒரு/இரண்டு வருடம் கழித்து தான் தமிழ்னு சொன்னத கேட்டு பயங்கர அதிர்ச்சி.

தமிழ் நாட்டுல வளர ஒரு குழந்தை முதல்ல இந்த மாநில மொழிய படிக்காம, எடுத்தவுடன் ஹிந்தி படிக்க வச்சி, அந்த மொழிய அடுத்த தலைமுறையோட இயற்கையான மொழியா மாத்துறது, இன அழிப்போட முதல் படி.
I'm still wondering how this is not a big issue in TN.

If & when education is brought under state's right, the first thing we should do is make Tamil a compulsory language in CBSC Schools. Only English should be mandatory along with Tamil.
Hindi & other optional languages should be taught only after 3rd grade.

P. S: I got my daughter into a Montessori school after they confirmed that Tamil & English is their first choice.
