Why do I trade momentum bursts with 2% instead of a comfortable 4%?
Because tightening stop from 4% to 2% doubles Multiple.
The relationship isn't linear. It's parabolic.
On a 25% return:
at 4% stop : 6.25R
at 2% stop : 12.5R
at 1.5% stop. : 16.7R
Basically, 1/2X stop, 2X R.

Now the part most people miss.
At a fixed 1% portfolio risk per trade:
at 4% stop → 25% position
at 2% stop → 50% position
at 1.5% stop → 66% position
Same capital at risk. Double the size to the move.
Tight stop gets two things at once:
1-Bigger R per winner and
2-Bigger allocation at identical risk.
That's the same risk deployed more better.
Momentum burst is short pause , expectation 8-40% in 3-9 days with tight SL
"But tight stops decrease your win rate."
Correct. 6.25R you need to be right 13.8% of the time.
You will get shaken out more with 2% stop .
But fact is, you need to be right far less often for the system to work. 35-40% win rate can be magical
Three more honest caveats:
1-Needs precise entries. Most traders don't have that timing.
2-30% in one name is mathematically fine and many are scared to do so.
3- 6 or 7 losers out of 10 is normal here. Most people quit at loser number 4.
This isn't for everyone.
But it's the most logical, controlled framework I have found for making meaningful money in short windows.

Wife: What is it?

Me: Term insurance.

Wife: Why do we need it?

Me: Because if I die early due to an accident or illness, this insurance will ensure you have enough money to take care of your needs.

She agreed.

The next day,

Me: Let’s fill out another form.

Wife: Another form? What is this?

Me: SIP.

Wife: What is SIP?

Me: We invest a fixed amount regularly through mutual funds. The money gets invested automatically from our bank account. Over time, it can help us build substantial wealth.

Wife: But why do we need SIP?

I looked at her and asked:
👉Then why did we buy term insurance yesterday?”

She immediately replied:
Because something could happen to you- if you could die early , I get money to survive.

I smiled.
Exactly. Term insurance is for the possibility that I may die early.

👉And SIP is for the possibility that I may NOT.

There was a pause.
Because none of us knows which one will happen.

We don’t know when life will end.

And we don’t know when markets will rise or fall.
That is why we need protection for the uncertainty of life and discipline for the uncertainty of markets.

Term insurance protects the life we may lose.
SIP prepares us for the long life we may have.

So, friends,

Don’t try to predict what you cannot predict.
Protect. Invest. Stay disciplined.

Be a peaceful investor.

It made me think about how meaningful work is often built. Rarely through one dramatic moment. Usually through small, consistent efforts that may seem insignificant on their own, but create something lasting over time.

In the summer of 1980, a distraught 7th grade boy stood in the courtyard of a modest house in Mylapore, watching his father toss his cricket bat down a deep well. A fast bouncer had shattered the boy's spectacles during a local match & his father, a renowned Sanskrit logician, was terrified for his son's sight.

"Your cricket days are done," his father declared, handing him a violin. "If you want to master precision, master this."

The boy did not throw a tantrum. He directed his focus toward the strings, training until he was performing alongside musical legends, even taking direct corrections from Bharat Ratna M.S. Subbulakshmi.

5 yrs later, he suffered another blow: he failed to clear the IIT-JEE examination.

He did not give up. He enrolled in a regional engineering college, quietly mastering computer science logic gates. He eventually worked his way into IIT Madras as a postgrad researcher, earned a PhD, joined as a prof & eventually became the Director of the very institute that had once turned him away.

By 2011, while the world was building consumer mobile apps, this prof was looking at a hidden national vulnerability: every radar, fighter jet, banking server & defense system in India was running on foreign-designed microprocessors.

He had a single question in his mind: "We can test that a foreign chip does what we WANT it to do. But can we guarantee it does not do something we DO NOT want it to do when a war starts?"

He proposed building a completely indigenous, industrial-grade microprocessor from scratch. Global tech giants insisted it could not be done w/o billions of dollars in infrastructure & massive foreign patents.

He did not care. Working out of cramped labs on long shifts, he & his team adopted the open source RISC-V instruction set. They hand-coded logic gates, mapped silicon layouts & verified billions of instruction cycles.

In July 2018, a tiny 16mm² piece of silicon codenamed Risecreek arrived back at the lab. The team wired it up, flipped the switch & watched a flickering monitor as the Linux operating system booted on 100% Indian-designed silicon for the 1st time in history.

Today, his SHAKTI processor architecture powers everything from defense communications to space grade controllers built in collaboration with ISRO.
