Also as a general public in such a heinous crime even if there is an iota of doubt that any officer might be involved in cover up I definitely want the govt to suspend them and investigate. Let them come clean and be re-instigated.

Your timeline is correct. But the ick is why police submitted a closure report? In India there are so many such case still open due to lack of evidence or witness. I mean cases more than 20 or 30 years old. But why DMK govt wanted to close within few months of FIR. Ideally they themselves should have seeked more time to further investigate.

Good. Just gave that as an example. If the students concerns are genuine then we need not worry, once the Uni confirms his estimated funds are fair, the funds will be released. Let the government go through the due course. Just because he released a video the funds cant be released. That sets a bad precendence for other student too.

Have you not clearly read the ministers press note? The student has sought 19.5 lakh for second year research expenses. Govt today has sent an email to the university to check and acknowledge the expenses quoted by the student. If the University acknowledges then the minister has said funds will be released.

Lets say your are sponsoring a persons education. Will you not ask him to show the bills? Or will you blinding keep giving funds? Govt has so far released close to 50 lakhs. He has sought additional 19.5 lakhs. Government is just asking for bills for amount released so far and also checking with university on the additional amount asked for second year before releasing the same.

I will not blame or belittle the Tamil people. They have come to see their favorite star who has become their home state's CM. But it was poor planning from the CMO side.
Should have organized a meet & greet with the Tamil fraternity in a safe setting.

Two developments in the space of a few days have created an uncomfortable question for the Tamil Nadu government: is the Chief Minister being served well by the people advising his office?
The UK visit was supposed to be about investments. MoUs were announced and the government has highlighted the investment commitments secured during the trip. But that alone doesn't end the discussion. The public is entitled to ask what was genuinely achieved through the CM's presence in the UK that could not have been accomplished through normal engagement with companies, particularly those already having operations or relationships with Tamil Nadu/India.
More importantly, an official foreign visit should leave absolutely no ambiguity about its principal purpose. Instead, the Silverstone appearance with Ajith became one of the most visible moments of the trip. There was an official motorsport-related purpose attached to the visit, but politically the criticism was entirely foreseeable. Someone around the CMO should have anticipated how those images would be perceived alongside an investment mission.
And before that debate could even disappear, Pattinapakkam happened.
The government recently abandoned the Parandur airport proposal after prolonged opposition and concerns involving land, water bodies and affected communities. Whatever one's position on that decision, it was an enormous infrastructure project intended to address Chennai's long-term aviation requirements.
Against that backdrop, announcing an expensive new Secretariat and Assembly complex at Pattinapakkam was always going to invite a simple question from the public: if environmental and community concerns were important enough to reconsider one massive project, what makes this particular location appropriate for another major government development?

@CMOTamilnadu’s UK visit has raised more questions than answers.

Yes, MoUs worth over ₹12,000 crore were announced but much of the headline value came from companies that already have a significant presence in India/Tamil Nadu. That naturally raises the question: did these engagements really require an overseas CM-level visit, or could many of them have been pursued from Chennai?

The Silverstone visit and the optics around Ajith’s race only added to the criticism. Whatever the official justification, an investment trip should ultimately be judged by how much of these commitments translate into fresh investment and actual jobs on the ground.

With by-elections on the horizon, this was a trip where the government needed the optics and outcomes to be beyond question. Instead, it has handed its opponents an avoidable talking point.

Secondly, the Pattinapakkam Secretariat announcement has created another completely avoidable controversy.
This is a government that recently scrapped the massive Parandur airport proposal, citing concerns over land, water bodies and the impact on local communities. Yet, within months, it has proposed a ₹1,200-crore Secretariat and Assembly complex on Chennai’s already congested and environmentally sensitive coastline.
The question isn't whether Tamil Nadu deserves a modern Secretariat. It is: why Pattinapakkam, why now, and why announce it before building wider public consensus around the location?
Fishermen, residents and environmental groups are already raising concerns. After Parandur, the government should have anticipated exactly this reaction.
Taken together with the criticism surrounding the UK visit, it creates a worrying perception that whoever is advising the CMO on major decisions and their political optics needs to reassess the approach. The CM ultimately owns these decisions but good leadership also depends on good advice.
