@furmerly I am in favor of improved passenger rail transport btw, I'm just pointing this out bc really it could be a lot better both in the US and Europe. Personally, I'd never take Lisbon to Istanbul by rail bc I value the little sanity I have.

@furmerly Technically you can, but you probably wouldn't want to. It takes 2 days and not even entirely by train, actually, a significant part of the journey will be by bus and doing an insane amount of transfers. Compare w: 5 hour direct flight.

Is it bc you are one? I'm guessing you aren't, but maybe my questions will show you why someone might think so.
