Now Vijay is visiting Karur after buying out the ADMK MLA from Karur. If the earlier explanation was genuine, what has changed?

More importantly, TVK was introduced as a party that would offer an alternative to the existing political culture. But if that alternative is built by inducting leaders from the established Dravidian parties, including politicians who have faced serious public allegations and represent the very system that people wanted to move away from, then the promise of alternative politics begins to lose its meaning.

A party’s DNA is shaped by the people it brings into its fold. If those who symbolized the old political culture become the foundation of the new party, then the DNA itself changes.

The question is no longer whether TVK is different. The question is whether it is becoming just another version of the politics it once promised to replace.

A party must be open for all kinds of people. But the leaders of that party, must be real change agents.
