@MinhazMerchant True. BJP's spokespersons are often fact-challenged, inarticulate, and lack conviction in their own statements. In contrast, Congress has seasoned lawyers as spokespersons so they are adept at lying thru their teeth with a straight face, often defending the indefensible. #BJP
@vaidyaparampara Singapore takes even chewing gums and cigarettes seriously and banned them years ago with severe punishment for possession or consumption. But here in India no Govt cares for public health or well-being. Bribes dictate Govt policies. Public be damned.
@juliachaigneau India is perhaps the most diverse country - culturally, linguistically, culinarily, religiously, et al. Hope you get to explore more diverse vegetarian cuisine during your stay in India.
@hvgoenka People can raise pigeons, like pre-postal era :-)
Will ensure pigeons are well fed, after all the recent ruckus about pigeon feeding in public places
@WhatsApp Observed that for the past fortnight or so, most video clips played in WA-web stop mid-way and resume playing from the beginning. Pls fix this bug in WA-web video playback. Works properly in the App though.
@AynRandOrg As Margaret Thatcher rightly said, the problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people's money. India is a classic example of how Nehruvian Socialism was a disaster and kept most Indians poor longer than they would have had we embraced capitalism in d 1950s.
@sumanthraman If India were truly a 'secular' country, no Govt should've interfered in the religious affairs of any religious community, esp the Hindu majority's, which has been wimpy for over a century. Unsurprisingly, the SC has been squatting on cases for decades challenging HRCE Act itself
@RajivMessage Indian EAM Dr. J had made a statement recently that India will not support any initiative in any alliance or forum it is part of, to be anti USD. USA needs to appreciate India's regional compulsions to be part of BRICS or SCO. India has right to act in self interest just like USA
@MinhazMerchant@DGukesh@MagnusCarlsen@Kasparov63@MagnusCarlsen may be among the best chess players but he's also among the most cocky ones, who belittles achievements of opponents, instead of showing grace in defeat and giving credit when it's due. Magnus needs to work on his attitude more than on his chess, to be truly great.
@1mgOfficial What is your contact phone no to reach your customer care to consult before buying medicines. Need some clarification before buying hence this query. Your Toll Free No 1800-212-2323 doesn't seem relevant and I can't reach your CCE thru this IVR driven no.
@IndianTechGuide So Govt of India run ISRO used public money to develop these tech but transfers it for Free to 6 private entities. Why not get these 6 firms to pay royalty or fees for using these tech for private business devt. ? Where is the RoI for Govt in this ?
@IndianTechGuide Red tape is the superpower of India's bureaucracy. Strict regulations enable them to harass citizens, to deny services rather than ease access to services one is entitled to by law. Bribery and corruption stem from such mindless paperwork, which hugely benefits officials alone.
@1mgOfficial Thanks for calling up Pooja. Hope Team 1mg incorporates & displays fair T&Cs for services offered thru its App before payment, to reassure prospective customers of prompt services, as customers have no way of reaching 1mg except thru posts on SM like this one. Transparency helps.
@IndianTechGuide Considering the public infra in all Indian cities, none of them would qualify for hosting even Asian Games, let alone Olympics, which has much more demanding preconditions. Developed countries hosting Oly use it as 'soft power' but 3rd world countries like India don't deserve it.
@drgurner True. The ultimate goal of education is not knowledge but action. Those who take action are more successful than those who have tons of knowledge but don't put it into action. Academia perhaps only space where acquiring and imparting knowledge to others is considered 'action'.
@WorldAndScience IHMO, Earth will remain humanity's ONLY Home. No living being on Earth can live on any other planet, considering the extremely harsh conditions there. It's futile exploring Mars, while ruining Earth, which is and remains our only hope of survival as a species.
@markmanson Since prehistoric times humans have sought to live in a 'comfort zone' of predictability and stability. But humanity has come this far striving for this 'comfort zone' thru innovations in technologies, to make life easier. So easy isn't such a bad thing. Complacency is bad though
@sfliberty There's no such thing as "equal rights" as all are not equal. Equality is an unhuman trait. Gender rights activists should promote gender equity rather than gender equality. One should get what's fair n just for themselves, not comparing with what the next person has, or doesn't.
@venkat_fin9 In developed economies freebies / doles tend to discourage people from feeding off the State, as the State provides enough opportunities for everyone to earn their living honestly by hard work. OTC Govts in India love to keep people poor and perennially dependent on Govt freebies
