They may understand the country but the technical analysis is very poor.

Initially they were stating that mobile service was not working because IPv6 routes were down and mobile service often uses IPv6, but this isn’t true in Iran.

For a few days, they had a chart on their page (attached) plotting Starlink interference but had to take it down because they had made it up.

They thought that the loss of direct adjacencies for AS49666 meant that the IPv4 routes weren’t propagating very far and thus the outage was caused by reachability issues. This is not true.

They had claimed to have discovered an ASN in Europe controlled by Iran because it went down went the country went offline. In fact, the ASN had not been in the routing table for almost a year prior.

Aside from manufacturing Starlink data, they clearly don’t understand BGP. There are still errors in their material like the graphic you posted.

I would be very hesitant to believe anything they post without checking another source.
