@jackyalcine Don't they already (except for Linux ofcourse).
All we need on the web is a better permission model, like Android, but for web apps.
My reasoning being the web is more welcoming than native apps.
(Games can still stay native though)
@WebReflection Yeah, the gotcha with getComputedStyle(el) is that the style read happens on the getters of the returned object. In terms of API design it's really misleading.

But there could be other ways to track user engagement, like amount of focus a tab gets, and ignoring background usage.
That would help a bit, wouldn't it?
@jackerhack Duo was basically they WebRTC testbed, that apparently happened to be useful, and Google decided to promote it instead of axing it.
IMO Duo just _happened_ to be what it is, not because of specific requirements.
Here's the rejection letter. I love how they frame their shakedown as "offer customers the option". Not a single mention of the fact that Apple will take 15-30% of our business through this. THIS IS ALL JUST FOR THE CONSUMER GOOD, YOU SEE.
