آج کی ڈی جی آئی ایس پی آر کی پریس کانفرنس اور یحییٰ خان کی آخری پریس کانفرنس میں کوئی فرق نہیں تھا۔ جو نفرت کے بیج آپ نے تب بوئے تھے، آج بھی آپ اور آپ کا ادارہ وہیں کھڑے ہیں۔ حمودالرحمن کمیشن رپورٹ پڑھ لیں! اُس میں انہی armed forces کو ذمہ دار ٹھہرایا گیا تھا۔

استثنیٰ لینے کے وقت ہی سمجھ گیا تھا کہ آپ کا چیف اور ادارہ کس قدر ڈر چکا ہے، مگر اس قدر ڈرا ہوا ہوگا — اس کا اندازہ نہیں تھا۔

میں نے کئی سال پہلے لکھا تھا کہ فوج کے DNA میں یہ بات شامل ہے کہ جو ان کی جانب سے کیے گئے مظالم پر بولے، اسے غدار قرار دیتے ہیں، اور اس کا علاج صرف گولی سمجھتے ہیں۔ جبکہ سیاست دان ہمیشہ بات چیت کو ترجیح دیتا ہے، یہ ملک بھی اسی بات چیت کے عمل سے وجود میں آیا تھا۔
