I’m honored to have spent the majority of my career working with Doug. He is a gentleman’s gentleman and our city would not have rebounded from Katrina if not for the efforts of him and his wife, Denise. This is a great article that only scratches the surface of all that he has done for our community and industry over the last 30 years.
Exclusive: Longtime stadium executive and former Superdome manager Doug Thornton is stepping down from his role at Legends Global, leaving big shoes to fill and a large hole in the New Orleans sports scene. https://t.co/rrwjAgrMSX
The Hondo Rodeo team has touched down in New Orleans with The Hondo Rodeo Fest kicking off Friday at noon with The Street Fest in Champions Square. Followed by the Angola Prison Rodeo, the Million-Dollar Rodeo and performances by Lynyrd Skynyrd and Jason Aldean in @CaesarsDome
This is a phenomenal event that we are lucky to be able to host in New Orleans. If you’ve never been to a rodeo, you should come out! Plus, if you’re a country music fan, you can’t get a better lineup. You can still go to Hogs and then come to the @CaesarsSuperdome after.
This is going to have a great economic impact for our community. Come out! Cowboy Up!
Many thanks to @TheHondoRodeo for coming to #NOLA!

That’s not why New Orleans has a deficit . It’s why it’s not 400m. It’s the political leaders like the current mayor, who was on the council for 8 years, that weren’t paying attention and doling out money to non-profits and higher ed institutions under the guise of cooperative endeavor agreements that have produced nothing for this community. But thanks for playing.
@blakearcuri@merrydevo Comical. The same group that handed us a $220M deficit and couldn’t explain how it happened. Yeah, that’s right, let’s keep them in charge of this operation too. We will all have waterfront property by the time they’re done. SMH.
