incredible things happened today with someone who hacked into my extension to make it work without a paid subscription

The hack? intercept all server calls locally and return values the extension would expect from a paid user

A candidate had done very well in zoom interviews. So well that i felt it was fishy and i asked them to come to office for another tech round and it all fell apart.

Back in 2018, I was interviewing a gentleman for a mutual fund platform we were building. His very first question was:

"What if you shut shop one day and disappear?"

I reassured him, saying, "We’re here to stay. But even in the worst-case scenario, your investments are safe with central repositories like CAMS."

He paused and said, "That’s fine, but what will I tell my wife? She’ll say I didn’t even do proper research before investing. I can’t take that kind of risk in front of my family."

In a collective society B2C decisions have their family repercussions.
