ChatGPT is now integrated into Setu's documentation, to help users get in-detail context on the existing content.
Users can select a piece of information and ChatGPT will elaborate on it for them.

Tonight, BitGo and @silencelabs_sl executed the first quantum-resistant transaction on Ethereum testnet.
Quantum-resistant transactions are no longer the future, it's now.
It will take relentless work to keep decentralized finance alive in an AI dominated, post quantum world. These are the early steps...
Very proud of the team for making this happen. And special shout out to @silencelabs_sl - incredible work.

Let’s build something impactful together!
Last week, Setu launched “UPI Setu” - a UPI-first payment gateway. This is an industry first product in partnership with NPCI
For the past few years there has been some innovation in “payment gateways” e.g. BNPL (credit at the PG check-out page), LazyPay (i.e. an aggregator of PGs to improve acceptance rate) and a bunch of back-end plumbing (which users don’t see)
However, the concept of the payment gateway has NOT changed; this is where UPI Setu is an interesting product ⤵️
(1) “UPI” is a payment mechanism for multiple use-cases
- One-time transfer
- Recurring payments (e-mandate)
- Lein (for credit)
- Contingent payment (for IPO allotments)
Note: All of these payment functionalities can be supported by any PG for non-UPI payment methods as well (e.g. Credit Card, Debit Card etc)
(2) Setu has taken the UPI rails and decomposed it into primitives for developers:
- Flash (for QR payments)
- Recur (for subscription payments)
- Reserve and OneShot (for contingent UPI payments)
(3) How is this different from a PG?
- Most PG providers in India have the RBI Payments Aggregator (PA) license; this lets them acquire a merchant (website) and partner to offer payment options (the check-out page)
- Setu is a “switch” approved by NPCI; which means it has deep integrations with NPCI & the UPI rails
- UPI Setu will enable only UPI payments whereas other PGs enable ALL types of payment options
(4) Why (or when) would this be better than a PG?
- For specific use-cases: e.g. a SEBI registered broker blocking client funds for an IPO application (this is done ONLY via UPI)
- IF the end users prefer / skew towards UPI: e.g. for companies focusing on MSMEs selling to individuals, the preferred mode of payment is UPI (due to zero MDR)
(5) Big picture for Setu
- They’re attempting to build a developer platform of choice for embedding UPI into workflows or ERPs for enterprises and high growth startups
- In an ideal world, you’d see more workflows be built on UPI rails e.g. loyalty programs, subscriptions, click to buy ads etc
In June 2022, Pine Labs acquired Setu → this is a product where Setu & Pine Labs are collaborating closely; Pine Labs is the 1st customer of UPI Setu (owing to its huge MSME merchant base) and the banking partner is Axis Bank.
➡️Setu has always been a bit of a pioneer on all things FinTech, India Stack & developer experience → they offered a WhatsApp based FD booking flow 4 years before FDs become cool

💯 agree. Imagine instead of Press 1 for this and press 2 for that and press 3, you just say give me my credit card statement for last month and just get done with the interaction. For GenAI to be useful for us in our daily lives it needs:
1) Skills - General intelligence (which it already has) and rules of engagement (extremely important domain specific)
2) Access - This is where APIs come in. The ability to index and access multiple systems in an enterprise like banks to get you the answer you're looking for.
This is just the lowest hanging fruit.
We can do more complex workflows in the future like: Should I buy a house or invest in the market? Is it a good idea to upgrade my iPhone?
All this answered in an unbiased manner as an agent of the user is where the difficulty lies. But we're getting there soon.

This is the pinnacle of a trend that's been annoying for years: Delivering barely finished products to win a "race" and then continuing to build them after charging full price. Games, phones, cars, now AI in a box
Setu ships UI twice as fast—because our designers write production-ready code. We encourage designers to learn UI engineering, saving time and enhancing dev understanding.🧵
Recently, we decided to start a video series where we talk through some of our fav stories and give our unbashed and unwarranted opinion!
Check it out and please share feedback! The more brutal, the better!

every LLM launch uses benchmarks like HumanEval to showcase performance
these benchmarks are everywhere—but they have little utility for app developers. they are mere numbers on a blog post. what's missing is a "vibe check"
what if we could play with these benchmarks, tweak them for our use-cases, and do this quickly with fast iteration cycles?
