@PlayStation Just an observation, but this reminds me of that Batman game where you can’t play as Batman. I don’t want to play as Robin or Lara Croft’s boyfriend, and I definitely don’t want to play as the wife of Kratos. It’s not sexism or anti-wokeness - it should just be common sense.
@JezCorden Yeah I didn’t get a PS5 for that reason exactly. I don’t really care about their one-dimensional, over-the-shoulder cinematic schtick, and there’s not much else they put out these days unfortunately.
@JezCorden@Shpeshal_Nick $7 extra for 12 months is $84… more than the cost of just buying the new CoD game every year. It’s not a “bad look”, it just makes sense to me🤷🏼♂️
@thomasmahler I do NOT like damage numbers being displayed. IMO it feels “arcadey” and can ruin the immersion/art direction. It tends to become repetitive visual clutter and is redundant once you know dmg. Health bars less so, particularly for bosses as it’s the only one on screen.
@RoyRogers_HTMS@tmichaels191 Really? There are higher and lower harmonies auto-generated with her voice. It’s extremely obvious to my ear. It’s called a vocal synth.
@Cromwelp@mrhardcoremode God of War Ragnarok and Horizon Forbidden West. Both were a greatest hits of video game tropes imo (QTE’s, shimmying between cracks in the wall, cutscenes carry the narrative load, play as the companion, etc). To me, what CD is doing is just more fun, not dissimilar to Elden Ring
@HoegLaw@TieGuyTravis Just my opinion, but I think comparing two wildly different games like that is unproductive and unnecessarily divisive. “Better” is just relative and subjective. “At what?” and “for whom?” are what matter. Both can be great in their own way.
@JeremyPenter I love it so far. Definitely has a bit of a learning curve, but I like that about it. Feels complex and deep but rewarding and fun. Excited to play more, and that’s really what matters after all.
@BoomstickAlex Dude it gives you control over your character immediately. Feels like a statement of intent, and I’m here for it! 10/10 for that alone lol, but seriously, so far gives me KCD meets Dragon’s Dogma vibes. Complex and deep, but rewarding and fun.
@PigeonGoGaming@MrStarfield22 I wasn’t a huge fan of the companions (and actually prefer fantasy), but overall I really enjoyed my 200 hours and have been playing since Morrowind. 🤷🏼♂️ Maybe it just didn’t resonate with you. When opinions are so divided, it’s usually just a matter of taste/perspective.
@LukeStephens In my experience, creatives are less cynical than consumers. There’s nothing wrong with being excited about possibilities and trying out new things. Ease up on the pearl-clutching everybody, and let’s just wait and see. 🤷🏼♂️
@tyminski_marek Unedited gameplay for sure. I don’t want to be sold a game, I just want to know what it is. The more cutscenes and quick-cuts there are, the more I feel like potentially weak gameplay is being hidden for marketing purposes.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 - story, voice acting, and immersion
Resident Evil 4 - innovation, expansion of core franchise ideas, and replayability
