In collusion with the lake encroachers, they are already in custody of the disputed part of the lake (11.2 Acres - still awaiting hearing in High Court), and have cut many trees along the perimeter of this portion without Forest Dept permission, over last 2 weeks. But in a ludicrous turn of events, they are now attempting to grab the 2 acres which are undisputed, even cutting trees without Forest dept permission, and commencing earthwork in that portion!

BOREWELL DRILLING ENFORCEMENT LASTS ONLY 6 HOURS!? Short-lived respite! It's been barely 6 hours since the drilling was stopped by a whole army of BWSSB staff and police - and it has already resumed.

The sheer shamelessness and audacity of these illegal PG SLUM builders - They don't respect the laws, they don't respect the city, they don't respect anything. All they are interested in is making money, and they will destroy the city doing it!

@CMofKarnataka look at the state of your Govt - You just cant even enforce basic laws? If you represent the people of this city, will you please ensure ZERO TOLERANCE against illegalities? The city lacks an effective enforcement mechanism against illegalities! Please set one up with urgency! The city is already destroyed, at least help rescue what's left! Weekly Ward Meetings were held last in May 2025. After that, due to the Caste Census, GBA reorganisation and ward delimitation activities, ward meetings were suspended. Since everything's kind of settled down now, we request the GBA to restart the Ward Meetings immediately!

While this circular/SOP could be used as a starting point, it could be made even better through a process of public consultation.

Some important suggestions:

1) Every ward should have a dynamic webpage on the GBA website.
* This should be used to record meeting minutes, and share and monitor public information regarding the ward, such as ward budgets, projects in the ward, list the contacts in every dept for the ward, etc., Similar public dashboard pages need to be set up for divisions, zones, and for each corporation too.
* The process of recording minutes and posting on the website should be automatic and it will be great if the GBA provides an interface to ward nodal officers to do it at the meeting itself. The minutes page should also have options for review in the following weeks, for each action item.

2) Ward meetings should be held on Sundays, so that citizens are available to attend. The very basis of democracy is that the citizens are bosses, and the govt and govt depts are servants. So, the Govt should be available to the citizen, and not the other way around. Hence, it would be ideal to bring about some serious reforms, such as changing the weekly holiday for Govt offices to Saturday, and Sunday should be a full working day for Govt offices, so that public engagements can be held on Sunday, when citizens are available.

3) Ward meetings should be a fixed activity and accorded TOP PRIORITY. There should be no change in date or timings permitted due to any reason. Ward meetings should over-ride all official priorities in the ward.

4) Supervision by top management: An IAS or KAS level official needs to be in charge of a Zone/Division, and should officiate in every ward on a rotation basis, attending at least one ward meeting every month, to ensure serious and professional conduct of the meetings.
