@BenjaminNorton@ryangrim A lot of these older countries have generational inheritances/properties that have increased in prices by a lot. Americans have ‘new money’. So you should compare annual incomes or liquid wealth and then we can talk!
The US loves to boast about how wealthy it is, but its wealth is concentrated in the hands of a few oligarchs.
US oligarchs are so insanely rich that they make average wealth seem very high.
But *median* wealth in the US is lower than in Slovenia & Portugal, and half of Italy's
I'm actually a huge fan of Bryan Johnson.
Think he's a pretty humble guy with a big goal we'll likely all benefit from.
But everything in my body is screaming at me that the meal below is the nutritional equivalent of AI slop.
I know he says it's unrelated, but i cannot help but feel like this is why he's got auto immune gastritis.
It looks like something a pretentious chef would make a rich person. I lived in Dubai for 5 years, I've seen this type of thing a lot.
From my time bodybuilding and being a personal trainer in my 20's (+ getting in pretty good nick, yes cover pic is me). There are so many red flags with this 'food'
If my client was eating this food I would be recommending getting some meat + fish in their diet.
Specifically, rudiment animals and if they can stomach it - offal (organs).
Humans who ate the type of food below would effectively be in a 'struggling starvation state' in the wild.
That's the signal the body is getting.
'We can't find any meat or fish, we're foraging whatever scraps we can find'
One of the leading theories on how humans became the dominant species is because we created fire and used it to cook meat, this broke down the proteins and allowed us to digest them more easily which enabled rapid brain development.
This is without even discussing being fat adapted rather than glucose adaptated and the benefits of occasional ketone production.
Also, are we monitoring levels of seed oils? Because seed oils are a few chemicals reactions away from essentially being engine oil.
With no exaggeration, my brother in law said he ran his diesel van using old deep fat fryer oil from an old pub for a few weeks. Said he directly poured it into his engine with a filter for food debris - dramatically changed the way I viewed seed oils, I couldn't believe it. Mc Donald's literally advertise that they reuse old cooking oil to power their lorries. (Real in the UK)
Everything in my body is telling me that the meal below is low quality, low nutrient, likely over processed industrial sludge and if you ONLY ate that, it would make you ill.
And now he is ill.
He claims it's not diet related but also takes iron infusions for his iron deficiency...
We didn't become apex predators on this planet from eating plants, we did it from eating nutrient dense rudiment meat, fatty fish and in some part from dairy (dairy can be good from the right source).
I might be wrong but all my collective research + understanding + anecdotal evidence would suggest otherwise.
What do you think?
Now compare life expectancy by ethnicity! America is a massive country that takes insane amounts of immigrants from all over the world. The average gets skewed because of that
@antoniogm Yes that requires a ground level change from childhood! That being said, other sports are getting over saturated and people might chose soccer for an easier path to professional levels
@goodniteswimmer@yonann You must be someone who takes your medical advice from Dr Oz. It is just common sense and logical. I don't know how to argue with that.
@AllFutbolMX Azteca getting a World Cup farewell chapter feels right: altitude, noise, history, and that sense the stadium has its own pulse. Big venues host games; this one keeps receipts.
@JacobsBen Eligibility plot twist an hour before Belgium is peak tournament admin energy. Balogun went from “accept it” to “actually, lace them up” in record time.
@KensingtonRoyal@royalmarsden Cancer care runs on science, yes, but also on people doing hard, visible things that turn attention into funding. That bridge between goodwill and research is where real progress gets built.
