@leashless I do find it funny that, in an age where everyone has a ~50 megapixel/10k ISO camera in their pocket at all times, we still don’t have an in-focus colour photo of one of these things.
Well, I’ve finally posted the spiral galaxy formation model I’ve been working on for the past year. It feels to me like a huge breakthrough. These ideas have finally left the handwaving era!
For new followers: I have been exploring the idea that our universe might have evolved, in the Darwinian sense; might be descended, with variation, from a long line of earlier universes. This has FASCINATING implications – one being that our universe develops like an evolved organism, with intelligence and technology as predictable steps in its development – and it also turns out to have enormous predictive and explanatory power.
Which has led to a totally new, dramatically different picture of the early universe, as outlined in this post.
Anyway, your thoughts are very welcome. Also, feel free to pass this on to anyone you think might find it interesting, or who might want to give feedback. More minds needed here!

@MiroHQ But yesterday they excelled themselves by completely breaking scrolling (in the template browser); just don’t work, neither in Safari nor Chrome. Clownshoes. I’m trying to facilitate a 20+ person retro and wasting time fucking with their broken bullshit.
Can I rant for a bit about how badly @MiroHQ sucks? Bad enough that every time I opened it the whole interface is obscured by some popover advertising a new feature I don’t want and when I dismiss that I have to hunt around to find where they moved the feature I do want…
I think it's important that we continue taking a moment occasionally to remember that MACHINES CAN WRITE NOVEL CODE AND IT ACTUALLY MOSTLY WORKS lest we forget how amazing this is
'Londonmaxxing'
A short explainer!
London is a miserable place to live apart from around 3 months of the year when the weather is (mostly) alright
All of the Londoners who have been hibernating for the winter are suddenly high on vitamin D as they're finally able to step outside of their £3000/mo tiny flat. They're also probably drunk.
What they are experiencing is a short window of increased quality of life that most people take for granted in other climates
In this moment, they feel an irresistible urge to broadcast how amazing London is in the summer, in order to feel better about their life choices
Bless them
I think it's the same basic failure mode that lead so many people to cargo cult microservices for their 10,000 MAU products, or to terraform and/or kubernetes their pre-PMF product's architecture. It's fun to make computer go brrr, but it won't make the planes land!
Ok, here’s one: About 50% of websites have a broken auth/account setup flow which doesn’t work properly with iCloud Keychain (frequently such that you end up locked out of an account.)
Given that, why would I assume they won’t fuck up their Passkeys implementation?
Last week, I wrote about how AI is killing the website I live from. I turned it into a blog post that's easier to read and share.
