This is a great example of apples and oranges. If UK became the 51st state, you’ll actually see a massive jump in SGDP as healthcare and other public sector stuff suddenly become private and over the first few years the secondaries kick in. It will be 5 -10 rank within a decade.

They charged ₹9,000 per person to participate, which comes to roughly ₹8.1 crore made in a single day.

Same trend is showing up in marathons. People are paying ₹3,000–₹5,000 just to run for a day.

Being fit is good. But why are people spending this much on a one-day event? It feels less about fitness and more about validation.

Strong momentum through the first three quarters, a bit of a slowdown and recovery in the fourth. Overall a good #2025 with 148 active days. Completed my first 100k ultra.

A few more ultras in 2026 and a bit more swimming than usual.
