🚨 Doctors at Pune’s Kamala Nehru Hospital have begun a black-ribbon protest against Maharashtra’s move to recruit BHMS doctors directly into government service with status equivalent to MBBS doctors.

They warn that failure to reconsider the decision could lead to an indefinite suspension of medical services.

The doctors are urging the government to resolve the issue through dialogue.

On one side, MBBS doctors spend years of rigorous training earning their degrees. On the other, there are demands to allow practitioners with certificate-level courses to practice modern medicine as equals.

What’s strange is that instead of demanding better recognition and development of their own system of medicine, some homeopathic practitioners in Maharashtra are seeking permission to practice allopathic medicine.
