On the midnight of 28th May 2023, armed Kuki militants launched coordinated attacks on Meitei villages at Sugnu, Wapokpi, Serou (Kakching) at around 2:00 a.m., torching homes and forcing families to flee.

This marked the Second Phase of the Manipur violence, shifting from ethnic clashes to well organized, orchestrated assaults by Kuki SoO groups.

2 years past by, thousands of IDPs still remain stranded in make-shift relief camps, waiting for justice, waiting to return home.

A State Transport bus en route to a government-sponsored festival was reportedly asked to remove the "Manipur" banner, clearly illustrating the erosion of State Authority.

The ineffectiveness and incompetence of the security heads are directly responsible for this fiasco and for yielding to the Kukis' irrational demands.

People must be made aware that while Manipur burned in violence for two years, the DGP was busy in Jharkhand, meddling in cricket elections to support his preferred candidate,
