In a passenger-friendly move to enhance capacity and convenience on the Mumbai suburban network, Western Railway will upgrade 17 existing 12-coach non-AC services to 15-coach locals as well as introduce 12 additional 12-coach Air-Conditioned local services by replacing existing 12-coach non-AC services, with effect from 1st May, 2026. There will be no change in the total number of suburban
services over Western Railway.
