This is wrong on many counts @DrCOmole. It’s just that I don’t currently have the time to address it in depth. Suffice it to say that a minimum wage of N60,000 per month is just N2,700 per day, using a 22-day work month.

You cannot say that people should not factor in cost of transportation, food, electricity and petrol in calculating minimum wage. That’s bizarre.

It is also NOT true that most public servants have all manners of allowances. Maybe you mean NASS members. Please look up the Monetisation Policy of 2003.

Finally, anyone trained in negotiation skills knows that you don’t give your best offer first. That is why if something sells for an average of N100 and you tell me it’s N500, I will price you N10. When you reduce to N400, I will increase to N20…until we both decide to stop wasting each other’s time.

I am ideologically opposed to strikes as a means of resolving labour disputes but we have ALWAYS had people negotiating for government on the basis of the offices they hold not because they have had any training in negotiation.

“I never thought I could ever be able to relate this chapter of my encounter with Mr Ibu on his sick bed because I had this funny feeling that it had the potential of making light of a very dire situation as his condition presented. Well, the enigmatic humour monger himself, Ali Baba, has given me a soft landing to go ahead.
“I walked into his private ward in the ICU in the company of Chinyere Wilfred at whose behest we made the journey to Ever Care where he is being treated. We had just finished from a set, and she suggested that we take the opportunity to visit Ibu. With us were Jasmine, Mrs Ibu, and a woman I believe is her friend.
“As soon as we stepped into the room, his eyes lit up, and he retorted:
IBU: “Idiot, what are you doing here?”

You could never stop wondering where he got the strength under such agonising pain to exude such positive energy so effortlessly.
Then came the moment. I picked his hands from his sides and held them tightly as I muttered,
“Let’s pray.”
We gazed intently at each other and connected on the fading highways of nostalgia, and upon the instance, I felt a mad rush of hot tears welling up beneath my quivering eyelids. I quickly turned away for fear my animal weakness was threatening to have the better of me, but too late. Ibu was crying, too!
“We prayed and cried freely and came to, unconsoled. He wiped his eyes as I did mine, and out of the blues, the Ibu in him reared its head again.
IBU: “Idiot, you go dey cry. Wetin dey beat you?”
ME: “Mumu, you no cry?”

The two delectable nurses tending him laughed and laughed, and you could tell that Ibu made their jobs so very easy with his ebullient mien.
“I left his ward with one of life’s vital lessons running through my mind…
WHOEVER CAN MUSTER THE WILLPOWER TO SURVIVE IN THE FACE OF ANGUISH AND LIFE THREATENING PAIN, CAN DEFEAT DEATH EVEN IN THE MOST FIERCESOME BATTLE.

Why Blame #OBIdients or @peterobi For The Actions of Atiku? Sure, I am the first to admit that many of our OBIdients can be hard-headed (and I have been dragged too) but fact is most are just passionate Nigerians who really just want to see positive change in their country. So, why must everything be blamed on them? @atiku went to court in Chicago to get to the bottom of this forged certificate matter but all of a sudden it’s #Obidients that supporters of the BAT regime and other social media mercenaries for govt want to keep attacking for it? Recognition of the ashiwaju presidency is not an endorsement of the cover up on serious issues like whether our president is a forger or drug dealer. People should be allowed to get to the bottom of the matter!

In a sane country, People like @DavidHundeyin should be given national awards for his journalistic resilience and doggedness in investigating and covering issues that Nigerians are interested in. THATS HIS JOB! Instead they just want to hound and and kill him and then some Nigerians will support that? Disgusting!

Why are you all obsessed with a group of mostly young people who are adamantly fighting for fairness and justice in our country? If they remain unsatisfied with the election results, it’s their prerogative.

Somehow these young OBIdients have been labeled as troublesome people who are always attacking everyone but nobody seemed to notice that they themselves are ALWAYS under attack by every pro establishment people. You call them names but when they fight back you start crying and calling them vawolent?

I have largely stayed off poltical debates for my own sanity in a country where morals don’t seem to matter to many anymore but I think it’s very low class and unfair of govt mercenaries and mercenary influencers to keep attacking them for no reason all the time!

Since when has people insisting they want to know everything about their president, including his degrees and family progeny a crime? I say ‘Shior’ to those of you who are allowing yourself to be used to suppress peoples agitation. Let the matter play out! Only the guilty are afraid!
