The arrest of Sri Chinmoy Krishna Das, a respected @IskconInc leader and vocal advocate for minority rights in #Bangladesh, is widely seen as a blatant attempt to suppress voices defending the country’s #Hindu community. This has ignited nationwide protests.

Peaceful demonstrations in #Shahbagh were met with violence, as attackers, mainly the supporters of @Yunus_Centre and @bdbnp78 targeted unarmed Hindu protesters, leaving many injured- while police reportedly stood by. Protests in Chittagong, Cox’s Bazar, and Maulvi Bazar also faced similar disruptions, raising fears of organized repression against minorities.

The arrest and ensuing violence have heightened concerns about the state of #minority rights in Bangladesh. The country appears to be sliding toward systematic persecution of religious minorities, with an unconstitutional, #radical regime driving it toward becoming an anti-minority state.

The international community is urged to act swiftly, holding the illegal government accountable for its violation of human rights and religious freedom. Delayed action risks emboldening further violations against minorities.

Chinmoy Krishna Brahmachari, a beacon of hope for Bangladesh's minority communities, has been forcibly detained by individuals identifying themselves as members of the Detective Branch of Bangladesh Police at the Dhaka Airport. Witnesses reported that he was taken in a private van (license plate: "Dhaka Metro-ch 521161" or "ঢাকা মেট্রো -চ ৫২১১৬১").

This is a direct threat to the life of a courageous leader who has tirelessly fought for justice and minority rights. We urge the international community to intervene immediately to ensure his safety and release.
