@kareemformayor Quite frankly, there is no other candidate running for Mayor of Vancouver who is possessed of the breadth and depth of knowledge, the energy, or the platform and the policies embodied in the utterly human and humane candidacy of @kareemformayor. #vanpoli
@warawa Ryan, I think you’ll find your 50s to be a calming decade in your life and, sadly, the last decade when you can count on your health. Still lots to do, but given all your accomplishments to date, a decade when you’ll feel more assured. Happy Birthday !!!
@fabulavancouver I know, right. I was hoping for a long form census. No such luck. Oh well. Nice use of the Yiddish word, bupkis, Frances — appeals to my Jewish roots.
Tara Armstrong was ruled out of order for her use of Nazi ideology in the House today - but not before she made several posts on social media & if you watch, she tries to justify herself before being shutdown.
She withdrew her words but her intentions are clear. She doesn't uphold the dignity of her position. Shame on her.
@BestStephenD@yanickmproulx@MarkJCarney Mark Carney as Prime Minister …
* not only kept the Canada dental plan, but expanded it, so that crowns are now covered. Nine million Canadians benefit from the expanded program.
* brought in a national lunch programme for children enrolled in our country’s education system.
@jodyvance Yes. The more voices we have weighing in on civic politics, the better off we’ll all be. As I recover from my prostate cancer surgery, I hope (soon) to once again begin writing about municipal politics this election year. #vanpoli
@tamarataggart speaks truth to power on an issue that is rarely addressed in a public forum. A critically important and heartbreakingy articulate voice in the political realm, she MUST join the next BC government as a Minister. #bcpoli
@klarsenTEAM Congratulations, Kathleen. 6 months of joy, satisfaction, hard work, long hours and the camaraderie of all your fellow candidates, inside @vote4team and without. Sure to be one of the most satisfying experiences of your life. Best of good fortune. #vanpoli
History will indeed be kind to Justin Trudeau, for all the reasons Rosemarie Green points out, supplemented by further recognition by those who comment on her post. #cdnpoli
@validmavericity@sunn_time@PierrePoilievre Justin Trudeau did a lot of good. As soon as elected, he reversed OAS to 65, brought back the mandatory long form census Harper made voluntary, redid the Fair Election Act, ended the convoy, CERB/vaccines during the pandemic, dental care, daycare, stood up to Trump in the end.
@JcookeJeff@guyfelicella Convention delegates were chosen because of their fealty to Poilievre / required to commit to vote for Poilievre. Most delegates were a despicable amalgam of ne’er-do-well Freedom Convoyers. Hardly representative of the broad spectrum Conservative Party.
@JasJohalBC Ain’t gonna happen, Jas. Anjali will work with new federal NDP leader Avi Lewis, and will seek a federal seat in the next federal election. Ms. Appadurai has already made that clear to the good folks in COPE. Your question is based on old news.
@fabulavancouver For what it’s worth, Frances, you have my full and enthusiastic support. I would like to see @wazaroff tip the scales in your favour (and @BurrowsAmanda, too) and announce you (both) as a preferred candidate on the @OneCityVan slate for Council. We need the both of you. #vanpoli
Tonight, we cry tears of joy. 🥹
Congratulations to Chris Lavis and Maciek Szczerbowski, and to everyone behind THE GIRL WHO CRIED PEARLS, for bringing home the #Oscar for Best Animated Short!

@DilulloCody@CBCVancouver@KenSimCity Gloria Mackarenko is an embarrassment to the @CBC, a vacuous “professional” broadcaster. When #CBC took her off the air as host of their evening newscast, that should’ve been the end of her career - sadly, it wasn’t. #vanpoli
@MikeKlassen@CityofVancouver Yes. Nice juxtaposition of photos. I particularly like the photo of Vancouver City Hall, and the unique angle you have chosen to capture the image of the seat of Vancouver municipal government, the image both unique and beautiful.
@MikeKlassen@CityofVancouver Thank you, Councillor Klassen. My grandfather escaped the pogroms in Ukraine in 1903, sailing from Sweden to Canada, where he set about to clear land near High River, Alberta to become a (very successful) farmer. We are all Ukrainians. Slava Ukraini, indeed.
@fabulavancouver Everything I’d heard was Amanda had it in the bag. With Heather Stoutenberg (former NDP provincial director) as her campaign manager, Amanda seemed like the chosen one. Apparently not. William Azaroff, though, is a strong candidate for Mayor.
@bobmackin Absolutely it’s Lucy Maloney, who worked for the mining industry in Australia, as did her husband, who in Canada saw her husband continue to work in the mining industry. By the by, as a chief environmental officer in Australia, she had an egregious record.
@JasJohalBC Thank you for all the good that you do, for your integrity and hard work, for your consistently deep and incisive insights, for all the news stories you break, for your non-partisan no holds bar sincere and honest reporting. In 2025, you set a new high bar for the work you do.
