Saying Congress won Melur “because of DMK” is pure political comedy.

Congress was winning Melur from 1980 to 1991 itself. Tamil Maanila Congress won again in 1996.

From 2001 to 2021, AIADMK kept winning there. Not DMK.

In fact, in the entire history of the constituency, DMK has never won Melur even once.

So claiming ownership over a seat where DMK has zero electoral history is nothing but post-result propaganda.
