🙌 Now THAT’S a letter! Thank you @GinaForAustin for writing the feds about the impending harm of the 35 expansion! Includes the hard facts, and makes it clear that the people and elected leaders affected by this are being ignored.
@SecretaryPete, we’re counting on you. 🤝
💥BREAKING NEWS💥
Texas State Representative @GinaForAustin wrote a letter to @SecretaryPete urging him to act expediently on the Civil Rights complaint about the I-35 expansion.
Thank you for your leadership Representative!! ✊
Last night @AUStinAirport wasn’t even that crowded, and Uber/Lyft were $60-100, because THERE WAS NO OTHER WAY YO LEAVE THE AIRPORT.
We need more #Austin#airport#transit options than the one bus that takes 1hr+ to get downtown.

(Apologies; had to delete/repost this.)
Can @CapMetroATX and @sxsw *please* team up and open an Airport-Downtown direct #bus service during #SXSW?
You can even limit it to peak airport travel hours to reduce costs. (Bonus points for allocating one of the e-buses.)
It’s been desperately needed for years. 💔

@CapMetroATX The 20 bus isn’t publicized at the airport as a direct line to downtown. Is more publicity for it something @CapMetroATX and @AUStinAirport would be able to do in this final week before #SXSW?
“Straight to downtown
for just $1.50.
Every 10-15minutes”
🪧
@CapMetroATX I appreciate y’all sharing the route, and that it comes every 10-15min!
But because of the stops, that bus takes a minimum of 40min each way (longer in traffic)—not something most SXSW visitors will choose.
@suphannahrucker As popular a strip as this is, I feel great about it.
Even better if a good amount of the parking fees fund improvements to every other way to travel there: better bike lanes, sidewalks, scooter parking, transit frequency, etc.
@alexeheath I know it turns heads, but please don’t trash up @verge with fluff about the bogus Elon-Zuck fight anymore. We all know it’s bull, it’s not worth anyone’s time.
Please, yall are my favorite site. Period. Be better than a tabloid.

Heads-up: Minor #Barbenheimer spoilers.

@ashintex @kelseyhuse30 @CapMetroATX The signs really should be better, but in the future I’m curious if @transitapp has more accurate times. They use live location when available, and I think the smart folks at @SwiftlyInc try to make schedules more accurate
@JosephKopser@EvilMopacATX As someone who almost just kissed a connection, I’m floored that this isn’t already the norm.
On future flights I plan to hail an attendant a bit before landing and ask if they’d do this when we land (regardless of my connections). It’s just humane.
@RobertGarcia Let’s measure:
- # of complete trips doable by bike/transit
- % mode shift away from cars
- # of humans (not vehicles) throughput
Changing the success metrics to more practical improvements. 🙌
@RobertGarcia Love this question! One policy metric shift I’d love to see is not just “miles of bike lane” or “miles of rail”, which often leads to incomplete or cheap/useless implementations. Instead…
Election Day for the Austin runoff is TOMORROW!
Since runoff elections are low-turnout, your vote is an estimated 1,555 times more powerful than in a general election.
The future of I-35 depends on the outcome of this race. How and where to vote: https://t.co/Ku9lDp5QAn
