Vice President Harris behaved grossly irresponsibly in lying to the public about President Biden's state of cognitive functioning and participating in a campaign to hide the truth and deceive the American people. To point out these obvious truths is not to say anything positive about former President Trump, who has his own deficiencies and delinquencies, certainly including when it comes to truth telling. We have two deeply, deeply flawed candidates representing the major parties. It is important to avoid whitewashing the one you believe, given your values and ideas about public policy, is likely to do "less evil." Most progressives will read that one way, most conservatives the other way. Just, everyone, please be honest about these nominees, admitting that the one you favor, if indeed you favor one over the other, has serious flaws. It's a mistake, in my opinion, to be silent on the flaws of one candidate for fear that speaking the truth about him or her might help the other candidate. Tell the truth about both, and let the chips fall where they may. We will, in the long run, be a better country if we resolve to do that. If we want our politicians to be truthful, we need to be willing to tell the truth about them.

I support gun safety laws. However, this order from the Governor of New Mexico violates the U.S. Constitution. No state in the union can suspend the federal Constitution. There is no such thing as a state public health emergency exception to the U.S. Constitution.
