Today on #WorldChildrensDay, we heard voices from two young people one from Kyangwali Refugee Settlement and one from Amuru, Uganda. They spoke about their rights: access to education, play, food, and healthcare, and called on adults to listen and act.
"To our brothers and sisters who have sought refuge in Uganda, you are not forgotten. Your strength inspires us. Your dreams matter and your future is our shared responsibility." - UNHCR Country Representative @CrentsilMatthew#WorldRefugeeDay
Today, we also appreciate and honor the inspiring contributions of all the women at @WFP_Tanzania who drive change, uplift communities, and work towards achieving #ZeroHunger.

Menstruation shouldn’t mean missing School!
Today's @DailyMonitor highlights the harsh reality: 6 𝙩𝙤 10 𝙜𝙞𝙧𝙡𝙨 𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙨 𝙨𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡 𝙙𝙪𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙮𝙚𝙖𝙧. The headline ❝How government has let down schoolgirls❞ echoes the urgent need for action.
In September 2024, CEHURD, with support from @WHH_Uganda and in collaboration with #GrowTogether partners (@KiyitaD1, @STFUganda), convened a National Policy Dialogue on Menstrual Health Management (MHM). The dialogue amplified grassroots advocacy findings from Teso and Karamoja, pushing menstrual hygiene and gender-based violence concerns onto the national agenda.
Stakeholders and policymakers made commitments- 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻! Join the call for change. We must hold leaders accountable, push for policy implementation, and ensure no girl misses school due to menstruation.

@SusanNinsiima3@STFUganda You are right. Alongside this, I wouldnlike to see male-friendly GBV shelters so that male survivors don't end up in bars where they are usually welcomed but eventually misguided.
