If this is from before their 1858 trip to Greece & if she's indeed the maid mentioned by A. Alexander to have died there, the "maid" may well be the "faithful Foster" mentioned by Jane Franklin in her 1853 letter to Sir John (Cf @SJFranklin_1845 et al eds, May We Be Spared, p348)
