D.C. public schools has cut its technology budget for students by $9 million ahead of the upcoming school year, scrapping plans to replace aging laptops for students who have been using them since the start of the pandemic. https://t.co/CeTwGYfs7U
There's been much gaslighting & moderate justifying of the new Florida social studies standards, people stating the "clarifications" were designed to show Black resilience, or were just "facts." So, I thought I'd compare the African-American history standards to the Holocaust's.
@TimmyTimTom5@ward8woods I think "of course, if you don't care about people" is some sort of logical fallacy? I don't remember rhetoric.
That said, small patches are literally all small mammals and insects have nowadays. So why can't you value both humans and flora/fauna? We can coexist. Be creative.
@TimmyTimTom5@ward8woods Fracturing forested land erases the scant habitat any wildlife has, big or small.
I can't speak for the school, but I wonder if the construction company has an environmental mitigation plan in place to replace the trees?
@ward8woods How is it that @DCDPW has not caught onto your work? Are we working towards mitigating all this awful public dumping, DPW? Help make these amazing people work less!!

We are working 🥬! Some weekends and 10am-2pm Tues. (at Lederer) Weds. (at Powell) and Thurs. (at Edgewood ) to get our communal farms ready for April planting, so we can have a great harvest to give away to the community. Volunteers welcome. [email protected]#MorethanRec
I've walked down a ramp leading to the turquoise water of the ocean in Mozambique. Enslaved people descended the steep path in chains to board ships, taking them away from all they loved. The ramp is far larger than you may picture; the slave trade was a high-volume business.

Tomorrow some of your Christian students may be observing the Christian holiday of Yom Saint Valentine Ha’Kadosh, more commonly known as Christian Tu B’Av.
It is one of their important religious ‘Feast Days’ that even the least frum observe.
