Tim Cook took Apple from $350B to $4T in 15 years without overtly taking advantage of customers to the degree that has become commonplace.
He didn’t fill every Apple product with ads, sell your data to the highest bidder. He didn’t trap you in a dependency cycle where you have nowhere else to go and then jack prices through the roof.
Apple is the last great American company. The last institution driven by core values and an underlying respect for their customers.
They’re not perfect, they have made mistakes and they are still capitalist- they maximize their profits. But there is an underlying and inherent red line. A line that puts customer experience above revenue. And they have respected that line for 50 years. I respect that
