I'm that prominent embayment most modelers omit from their work! I also boast one of the largest freshwater estuaries in the world. #notalwaysgreen Go Pack Go!
One down, three to go!
Stay tuned for some mini LoRa buoys in lower @realGreenBay in the coming weeks.
We’ll be monitoring surface algae and bottom dissolved oxygen at 5 sites. Please don’t run them over, they are pretty small 😅

Headed to the beach this holiday weekend? Know how to keep safe from life-threatening #ripcurrents BEFORE you enter the water. Dozens of preventable deaths have already occurred this year. Visit https://t.co/EqMSccBaqU to find info on local forecasts and more safety tips!
Earlier this week @GreenBayNERR partners came together with @noaaocean staff for an informal conversation and visit to the proposed NERR sites. Meetings like the one this week are building connections between land partners and managers. Thanks for the visit! @uwgb@CofrinBiodiv
Today's vertically integrated #smoke forecast shows the wildfires trans-Atlantic reach. Zooming in on near surface #smoke for the #GreatLakes indicates another day of degraded #AirQuality for millions. Find your AQ Index via https://t.co/Anrsp4iEq4. #WIwx#ILwx#INwx#MIwx#OHwx

The ocean in May 2023 was record-warm helping surface temperatures in May become the third-warmest May in the 174-yr NOAA record. It is virtually certain that 2023 will rank in the 10-warmest years on record and an 89% chance it will rank among the top 5.

Happy #WorldOceanDay! 🌊 Okay, we know the #GreatLakes aren't exactly oceans...but they are connected to the ocean! Here's how water flows from Lake Superior all the way to the Gulf of St. Lawrence in the Atlantic.
Here's an update on recently observed and model forecast smoke from Canadian wildfires toggling between vertically integrated and near surface #smoke. A large Low is pulling smoke out to sea while a #GreatLakes Low is drawing smoke over the upper Midwest. https://t.co/3ERuWzbIZy
Keep an eye out for common nighthawks at dusk. These insectivores are fun to watch as they swoop and dart after mosquitoes, moths and other flying insects. https://t.co/1AYjNxbS5j
