The campaign to save the University of Essex’s Southend campus continues.
If the closure goes ahead, Southend will be a city without a university.

@LondonLabour@prafulnargund Choosing someone who apparently has interests in private healthcare provision over Jeremy Corbyn really shows the true face of Sir Keir's appalling New New Labour Party
@GillianKeegan University students and staff are being let down by government. Strikes are the consequence. Attacking workers' right to withdraw their labour is anti democratic in the extreme and you should be ashamed even to consult on it.
This is a spiteful attack on workers everywhere from a party that has run out of options & will soon be run out of office.
We will not stand by while Tory MPs try to force our members to cross their own picket lines.
And the whole movement will be with us.
@Leo_Iam_535@keithhallam@GillianKeegan@ucu Industrial action is more than the MAB and in any case, some PS staff were involved in MAB eg by refusing to process marks or prepare for exam boards. Your anger is very much misdirected.
This government’s strike-breaking agency worker regulations, which allowed agency workers to fill in for those on strike, are quashed as of TODAY.
The High Court ruled they were unlawful.
I sometimes get told by MPs that their patients “don’t mind if private companies deliver their healthcare”.
If you do mind, and want the NHS to stay out of private hands, please RT this. Let’s send MPs a message 💙
In the last 24 hours Keir Starmer has undermined university workers in the middle of a dispute and ruled out free school meals.
Those views are expected from a Tory leader, but unforgivable from a Labour one.
I support all @NEUnion teachers taking action this week as they continue to fight for the future of education.

On Disability Pride month, let me say clearly that disabled people have been banned from the workplace for decades by the idea everything has to be office based. “WFH” culture gave many, many disabled people a new life: social, joyful and good for us. https://t.co/pmkZMl6wXz
