@Nefarious_JP@itsnwts Bystander Effect: Kitty Genovese was a 28-year-old woman murdered by a man outside her apartment building in Queens, New York, in 1964. Several neighbors heard sounds from the attack but no one went out to stop it (one man did yell from his window) and few even called police.
@JimNorred@robsaker@LuizaJarovsky Sadly, I think you’re right. Individuals may choose to keep their use of AI non-essential (for a while longer at least) but if it were to be blocked here, the nations and entities who continue improving their AI will soon be in a position to launch devastating attacks on us.
@WittyVitale Even a little more shocking than that, it wasn’t until 1987 that the DSM-III-R removed ego-dystonic homosexuality…and distress about one's sexual orientation remained diagnosable under "sexual disorder not otherwise specified" until the DSM-5 in 2013.
@pstranges716 It is freaking crazy. Truly shockingly delusional when faced with the data, the science, and even in many cases their own lived experience!
@AllaAisling@kellyeld As I’m watching, I have to keep reminding myself that the outfits are AI and I don’t have to feel sad that they’re getting ruined by the water! She does such great work.
