America, the election is almost here. Here’s what to expect when polls close:
The margins are going to be close, but our campaign is on track to win this election. Americans all across the country are casting their votes in record numbers, ready to turn the page.
It will take time to count every vote, and there may be swings in the count along the way. Donald Trump falsely claimed victory in 2020, and we expect that he will do it again. We know that he is a liar—but the ballots will tell the truth. Stay patient, and know that every vote will be counted fairly.
America’s election system is strong—and it will not be interfered with by partisan actors. Our legal operation is ready to fight to protect every vote and make sure every last one is counted. Your vote is your voice, so get out and make yours heard: https://t.co/au6egSRhU8.
Together, we are going to win this election, and chart a new way forward.
@speakinWroyalty Also, I just looked up old class reading records (where I'd jot down page numbers each day) and your class was one of my favorites ever. Makes this even cooler for me—thank you again!
@speakinWroyalty LOVE this! Mrs. Shepler wasn't exclusively based on a single person. But you're right, I definitely had a person in mind to help shape the character.
Enjoy 2023 Tayshas pick DONUTS AND OTHER PROCLAMATIONS OF LOVE by @reckj First love, food trucks & festivals. Oscar knows one thing: he wants to get through school & continue the family food truck with his beloved Farfar--then along comes Lou who messes up Oscar's plan.
one of my 7th graders just brought back a book and said "I realized I didn't like scary books," as they checked out a happy romance. And, yet again, this is why WE TRUST STUDENTS WITH THEIR OWN READING CHOICES. I cannot stress enough that kids GET this.
Parenthood has caused my perspective on homework to shift DRAMATICALLY lol
Like, y’all had 8 hours w my kid. Y’all couldn’t fit all the work in there?? I only got 3ish hours between home and bedtime. That’s OUR time. You’ll see them tomorrow 😆
Gateway 3: Donuts and Other Proclamations of Love by @reckj shows “life is a lot more complicated than frying donuts thanks to an unlikely romance, confronting the past, and dealing with heartache.” Check it out today. #WeAreMehlville@Mehlville_HS
@NAEmmanuele These are a little older, but some of the titles that are perennial favorites over the last 15 years:
TWISTED, Laurie Halse Anderson
GYM CANDY, Carl Deuker
THE RULES OF SURVIVAL, Nancy Werlin
BOOT CAMP, Todd Strasser
NO RIGHT TURN, Terry Trueman

False assertions about the benefits of direct instruction, like the "Science of Reading" (and now, god help us, S of Math) campaign that egregiously misrepresents evidence about learning, remind us to be alert to exactly how research can be abused: https://t.co/kKmjMSsooi
Librarians, man.
Who else would buy 100+ copies of your little book to share with their teacher/librarian community, then also send you a homemade T-shirt your MC would wear on his food truck?
Superheroes, every one of them.🍩🧡
Thank you @Mrs_McHugh@LBookends + Yorkville115!
Picture book authors and artists, you will want to read Eric Rohmann and @candacemfleming's Talks with Roger. In particular, pay attention to Eric's discussion of the page turn. I'm going to be quoting from this for years. @HornBook https://t.co/etfnJGgAK8
I don't know how @Mrs_McHugh picked this gem, but it was the perfect cry fest to end my family vacation and flight home from beautiful Puerto Rico. Family, in all it's forms, is just an amazing gift.
