The world held its breath. Maybe its about politics. Maybe its about AI. Or maybe... Just maybe, its the first step of a single man. One who knows the art of code.
I am here to show you the path of art. The art of code
@gutolanjoni Yeah that’s why this came about. I was trying to solve big data challenges we have with our Rails monolith. Our background jobs can take 4-6 hours for just a single client and we have a few thousand. Crystal outperforms ruby with a pretty massive margin with big data
@alexanderadam__@flydotio@rails @alchemy_cms That sounds like 2 machines. One for postgres, the other for the rails app.
Shouldn't cost more than ~20. Can't remember fly prices off the top of my head though :(
A really cool idea for REPL:
The 'explain' command that takes a piece of code and describes its every part in a beginner-friendly way.
I don't recall any programming language doing this.
Here's my prototype for OCaml 👇
What do you think?
Another good one. Apparently a good amount of people believe that if you use an ORM, you can only use an ORM and never write sql. Therefore ORM bad.
My suggestion: use the magical power of **judgement** and decide when it's best to use either.
Oh no. 7yo figured out how to write shell scripts.
Me: you won’t be able to keep using my computer much longer because you are going to have the skills to corrupt a computer.
7yo: no mom. The only way you can mess up a computer is with JavaScript in a browser.
Me: 😳
I caught myself reading an article I shouldn't. I am a professional, you are one too. Don't let people compare technology for you and don't read their articles on the topic. Do your own analysis.
