It isn’t a defence to to say that others have done the same.

My biggest disappointment with this government is that they have done nothing to clean up our politics.

When free speech is used to lie or promote unethical ideals, others will respond by presenting facts or the moral imperatives.

That response is not attack on free speech. It is objective debate. Claiming otherwise is an attempt to deflect from your lies and lack of integrity.

@JamesWoodfield @theAliceRoberts Somehow as a wider society we need to find a way to reclaim and value truth. Judging from some posts today, there are too many influential senior figures and politicians who are keen to promote that lying is actually free speech and there should be no consequences.

Look at the impact of the PPI compensation. It pumped £50bn into the economy and masked the impacts of austerity to a great degree.
