9 years ago some very special people saved my life. On 27 June 2010 in Kunar Province, Afghanistan our Battalion was conducting an Air Assault to clear a valley of insurgents that had taken over part of Marawara district, across the river from the Provincial capital of Asadabad.
@F530Josh @DuplessisBrad My 2013 deployment I was with a new unit in Kandahar and it was more restrictive but I don’t remember the actual ROE changing much between 11 and 13.
@F530Josh @DuplessisBrad I think a lot of the ROE experience overseas depending on location and leadership. I was in Kunar in 2011 and ROE was not an issue. In fact, after a big mission in the spring of 2011 Petraeus came out and asked why we didn’t use pre-assault fires 🤷🏻♂️
@BrentBeshore One of mine is to be fit enough to do a race last minute if I want to or someone asks. I signed up to run a half marathon the next morning while at dinner. Or if a friend asks to do an adventure race I’m ready to go- no train up needed.
@Ashmolekb I can do daytime/afternoon in the winter but not the summer like this. I have 15 miles on the schedule for tomorrow and I’m waking up at 4 with a goal to be on the road by 445. Too hot for that distance this time of year.
What would you do if you boarded an airplane and saw this outside your window?
It's called "speed tape"
It costs ~$1k/roll and it's FAA approved to make fixes on the outside of airplanes until they can get back to a larger maintenance facility
