Twilight had fallen and I saw the glimmering lights of the Big Dinner-Show. I may not make it in time, but the running was so glorious and the night was so beautiful I didn't care. Pre-recorded banjo music played from the Cotton Tour Tractor as they drove into the eventide.

I ran barefoot down the gravel road toward the ranch house a mile from the where the big Dinner-Show would be held. I needed to swap my pajamas for proper attire and shoes. Now that my knees are too old, the running felt as exhilarating as flying used to feel in my dreams

I twisted as I ran to get my bearings and was swept into a cotton harvest tractor bin. Bemused tourists stared down at me laying in the cotton and the tour guide, a former student, used her bullhorn to let me know that I'd have to get out. Fine. I didn't want to be here anyway!

It reminded me of a time long ago, before I was a regular mass transit user, when I was riding the bus as a rare exotic delight and to my surprise the bus driver pulled into a pizza joint, ran in an grabbed a slice which he then ate in front of us as he drove.

I visited our old house - hoping that the renters were treating it well. Over a chaotic lunch, the oldest brother played a new song for the tour. I eyed their dog warily; my dog rarely took to younger dogs. The dogs reared up but instead of fighting? They started couple dancing.

Katie Couric arrived, the new teacher in my media course. I stayed for a more seamless transition, but she ignored me. The students disliked her ego; one student told her off (to no avail). I left to sit at the table overlooking the lake & enjoyed the view.

Four Brothers obsessed with an obscure SciFi/Police Drama wore little insignias referencing their fandom embroidered on their golf shirts. They secretly and politely hated me because they sniffed my secret homosexuality and (IMHO) feared that one of their brothers was also a fag.

They concocted a patchwork of modifications and played it. The audience, filing out, was gripped by the mumblecore-meets-Douglas-Sirk vibe of N.'s film. N. gave me a smiling glance and I knew he would win the audience vote award.

I'm thinking of making a black t shirt that admits "Taylor Swift Is My Shadow." but then thought - maybe I could open a whole etsy shop full of t-shirt admissions regarding unacknowledged Celebrity-Dream-Manifestations #monetizeyourtherapeuticinsights

2 nights ago, *after* Taylor Swift's gig at the Hartville Fair, & *after* her private blimp got hung up on the parking garage in front of my run-down mansion, & *after* the misunderstood vampire cloak & the leftover fried chicken, I felt confused and ambivalent. #dream

I also felt confused when J-lo helped me and my friend Ginny transport scan-tron forms in my yellow Volkswagon Rabbit 2 years ago. And this morning while archiving last April's dreams I was startled to remember that Penelope Cruz & Javier Bardem starred in my short film. #dream

24 hours in this quiet comfortable lounge still felt too long to be locked in. My parents arrived & looked up at our window. My adult son and I waved wildly and half-heartedly called: WE'RE UP HERE! They hugged us and exclaimed. My son just smiled. I grabbed our bags --

But the guy in charge said: "Not you Mr. Rudd. You have 2 weeks in the clinic." Everything was quiet and I was alone. My son eagerly sealed himself in the car. My parents looked at my window, but I knew they couldn't see me looking back at them. I still waved as they left.
