🇵🇰 The government blocked entire highways with containers just to stop a peaceful protest.
Even though the PTI rally is postponed to October, the scale of these strict security measures is shocking.

Jemima Goldsmith calls on the international community to intervene to bring an end to the human rights abuses that Imran Khan is suffering.

🇵🇰 Murad Saeed is accusing Pakistan's intelligence agencies of something extraordinary:
Outsourcing political repression to the same militants and criminals the state claims to be fighting.
The PTI leader alleges that intelligence personnel, rogue Taliban and hardened criminals are being organized into teams across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to abduct PTI officials and members of the provincial government.
Some, he claims, are being supplied with police and Frontier Corps uniforms. Criminal cases are allegedly being used as leverage to recruit others.
And Saeed says the disappearance of provincial minister Fazal Shakoor is one example of how this system works.
That case is real and deeply strange.
Shakoor was intercepted in broad daylight near the Peshawar motorway. Video shows masked armed men surrounding his vehicle, with one firing at its tyres. His brother subsequently filed a kidnapping case, and the Peshawar High Court has become involved in efforts to locate him.
His accusation is much bigger than another claim of an unlawful arrest.
He is telling PTI to stop viewing the raids, disappearances and alleged abductions as separate events.
They are one connected system.

The Cockroach Janta Party, the youth-led movement that spearheaded one of India’s biggest student protests in years, has demanded the resignation of the country’s chief election commissioner within 48 hours https://t.co/KRrIRW5yGT
My mother, Aleema Khan @Aleema_KhanPK and my aunts, Dr Uzma Khan @DrUzma_KhanPK and Noreen Niazi @Noreen_KhanPK , remain behind bars.
Their only crime is refusing to abandon their brother, Imran Khan @ImranKhanPTI throughout his imprisonment — a detention the UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention found to be arbitrary and in violation of international law, and called for his immediate release.
For three years, they have stood outside prisons and courtrooms, enduring everything from scorching heat exceeding 45°C to near-freezing conditions, demanding justice and the rule of law.
They have endured tear gas, chemical-laced water cannons, repeated arrests and relentless intimidation. Yet no amount of pressure could silence them or force them to step aside. They stood their ground. They refused to abandon their brother.
Since their latest imprisonment, they have been denied access to their family and legal counsel. They spent three years demanding justice for their brother. Now, like him, they find themselves denied the very rights they are fighting for.
Standing by their brother is not a crime.
Raising their voice for him is not a crime.
Demanding justice and the rule of law is not a crime.
Their detention must end.
Two years ago today, on 24 September 2024, Junaid Jahangir @M_Junaidd was detained in UAE at the behest of Pakistani intelligence agencies. He remains in Al Wathba Prison, Abu Dhabi, without access to his family, friends, or lawyers!!
I have known Junaid @M_Junaidd for 15 years, and we were roommates in UAE for nine months. One thing I remember clearly is his “trust in UAE and its rule of law”.
When I left UAE in April 2024, Junaid chose to stay. He had other options, but he believed UAE was a “safe and law-abiding country” where he could focus on his career and can build his future, away from the persecution of PTI supporters by Pakistani intelligence agencies.
That belief in the UAE’s safety and rule of law was one of the reasons he felt secure staying there. But….
Five months later, while returning from Umrah, he was detained at Dubai Airport. For around 8 months, he was held in undisclosed custody before eventually being transferred to Al Wathba Prison in Abu Dhabi, in May 2025.
For two years, none of us, his family, his friends, or his lawyers, has been able to sit across from him or see him. His family waits weeks for a brief and occasional phone call. That short call is their only connection with their son !!
Think about what two years mean to a family: two years of birthdays missed, Eids spent apart, parents growing older waiting to see their son, and every morning waking up with the same unanswered questions !!
Two years later, his family is still waiting for something painfully simple: to see him and hold him again.
We respectfully appeal to the UAE leadership @MohamedBinZayed@HHShkMohd@HamdanMohammed @HHMansour @HHShkDrSultan@LadyVelvet_HFQ and authorities to look into Junaid’s case with compassion and fairness. Two years have already been taken from his life and from his family. Please allow him to return to the people who have been waiting for him every single day.

The question is why does the British government not take action? It is forever handing money over to Pakistan. Britain could withhold the money it gives Pakistan. The UK has a lot of influence it could wield. But it is not doing anything. And there are plenty of Briish Pakistani MPs who are doing nothing too. They could raise this in the UK Parliament.
UPDATE: Imran Khan’s family now say police have raided homes linked to former Prime Minister’s other sisters after detaining his sister Aleema Khan.
Sisters - Dr Uzma Khan and Noreen Khanum, Aleema’s sons and ImranKhan’s niece Sakina have reportedly been “taken away”.
🇵🇰 Imran Khan's niece says 200+ police officers raided his sisters' homes in Lahore and broke down a bedroom door while his sister Dr. Uzma Khan was still in bed.
She was arrested in the raid and later released.
She says officers gave Dr. Uzma no chance to cover herself properly, and that the officers in charge were heard ordering their men to seize them and throw them in.
She also says staff at both homes were dragged out of their quarters, with Aleema Khan's staff thrown into police vans, and that police threatened to arrest a staff member's daughter-in-law and 1-year-old granddaughter.
Noreen Niazi and Dr. Uzma were detained for 30 days under the Maintenance of Public Order ordinance and taken to Kot Lakhpat jail, with officials calling them potential dangers to public peace even though the sisters hold no political or party roles.
Coincidentally, all of this comes days before PTI's September 27 march on Islamabad, which the government has vowed to block with tens of thousands of police deployed.

“They have taken us. They’ve taken all of us. My aunts, my brother, my cousins. They have abducted us all, and are taking us in an armored vehicle.” - Shahrez Khan, Imran Khan’s nephew and @Aleema_KhanPK’s son, in his last audio message as he and members of his family were being abducted in Lahore.
Naked fascism and a reign of terror against Imran Khan’s family by the military government.

Upon instructions from friends and family, I have submitted an urgent complaint to the United Nations Working Group on Arbitrary Detention (@UN_SPExperts) copied to the Special Rapporteurs on Freedom of Expression, Belief, and Association concerning the detention of @ImranKhanPTI 's sister Mrs Aleema Khan (@Aleema_KhanPK)
On 20 September 2026, Mrs Khan was seized from near her house in Lahore and the authorities, after first refusing to acknowledge that they had detained her, have now stated that she is being held under the draconian Punjab Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance, which allows the authorities to order the detention of individuals without court approval.
It is clear that Mrs Aleema Khan has been targeted because of her support for her brother (@ImranKhanPTI) and because of her advocacy for democracy in Pakistan and we have submitted that her detention is unlawful and arbitrary, as it is without a proper legal basis and has taken place because of her exercise of her rights to freedom of expression, belief, and assembly, and in an attempt to dampen support for the legitimate public protest in support of Imran Khan planned for 27 September 2026.
After speaking up for Aleema following her seizure, her two sisters have now also been detained.
We ask you all to raise the case of Aleema Khan and her sisters wherever you are and for the international community to act for democracy in Pakistan.

WTF IS GOING ON IN PAKISTAN!
They arrest the former Prime Minister Imran Khan, put him in solitary confinement for years, do the same to his wife, then start arresting his family
And now arrest his sister, who's in her 70s, because she's speaking out in support of her brother! the former PRIME MINISTER!!!
Enough is enough! THE FAMILY HAS BEEN THROUGH ENOUGH!
