The dust has settled since the #US-#UK strikes on #AnsarAllah#Houthis in #Yemen. I've taken some time to reflect on the events leading up to this point. This #Thread is an attempt, first and foremost, to clarify for myself what comes next.
Sana'a is being bombed right now. Other cities reporting same. Can't help but think that there were no lessons learned from 8 years of relentless bombing that have achieved nothing but devastation and despair to #Yemen-is.
Climate funding has been frozen in conflict areas due to 'instability' & 'governance issues' for too long despite them being the most vulnerable to climate change.
I hope that ‘Leaving no one behind' in #climateaction is not just a motto but becomes a reality. (2/2)

The effects of #CycloneTej on Al-Mahra Governorate, eastern #Yemen.

We hope that those affected will be helped and that the damage will not worsen🙏
“One of the reasons why I think Security Sector Reform (SSR) is important, as a major means of dealing with this problem is that you need to create security, economic security, health security, environmental security, food security, human security, military security, all different types of security within the country first, if you're going to be able to start to talk about national reconciliation. If the economy is suffering and has been affected and disrupted because of not just the conflict itself but also because of the harsh measures being imposed by the United Nations Security Council, that's also going to be a challenge and needs to be addressed.” @WAndyKnight1

QISHR Coffee: Why did Yemenis prefer it to coffee beans?
From Yemen the country of coffee Mokha, the world was guided to this magical drink. For the past centuries, Yemen exported coffee beans, which shaped the moods of the world, and retained its peels.
