Great news! Vaccines capped NSW’s hospitalisations. It’s Victoria’s turn next https://t.co/IhZniHq9Ou #DanAndrews good at ratcheting up restrictions - let’s see how good he his at ratcheting down #lockdown in view of these data
@_davidlimbrick Totally agree. In the absence of being able to peacefully protest we need to find other ways to push for a rapid unwinding of #lockdownmelbourne please sign this petition https://t.co/ivJAAECeeV
@jeanettekenne@DanielAndrewsMP The decision to tighten the lockdown is not an inevitable consequence of these actions. It’s not a natural law. The premier’s hands aren’t tied - this is his decision. Scapegoating individuals to justify grabbing more power is not OK. Don’t let this government divide us. #freedom
@VictorianCHO@PKelly_CBR How about encouraging protests in the spirit of democracy but impose constraints in the way it is conducted (eg face masks, distancing etc)? That way you convey interest in public opinion and receive vital input to better inform your decisions as a servant of the public.
Blanket indiscriminate #lockdowns are not sustainable nor desirable, so get #vaccinated and Plan on living and dying with the virus https://t.co/SFd0up4kSw
“Scientists alone can establish the objectives of their research, but society, in extending support to science, must take account of its own needs.”
— John F. Kennedy
Our leaders & media must start considering questions of individual freedom, economics, mental health, and social sustainability rather than reflexively defaulting to a unidimensional lockdown approach if we are to retain a credible democracy.
Good point that begs the question - is it also justifiable to limit individual freedoms by imposing lockdowns as a means to an end? The moral quandary of vaccinating children against COVID-19 https://t.co/uFvd8HNZLf
