@ratkins I for one find it refreshing to see the lang team reconsider previous decisions and hard stances. Macros and if/switch as expressions are features I had already given up hope for.

Having to introduce unnecessary local variables with `variable = …` or redundant `return …` gets boring real quick in FP-heavy projects in my experience.

Something the Twitter purchasing is heavily reinforcing is the fact that in real life, Elon Musk isn't actually a very good businessman. His entire entrepreneurial career has been predicated on people giving him large amounts of money with little thought or oversight.
