The gentle and kind journalist Hassan Esslayeh (Aslih), a voice for the poor and the invisible, was assassinated by the occupation Zionist entity Israel in the early hours of the morning. The occupation state bombed Nasser Hospital, deliberately targeting Hassan while he was asleep in a hospital bed receiving treatment. In this 2020 report, you can hear Hassan in his own words, describing how he carried the burden of sudden fame because it enabled him to listen to the worries of those no one hears. A tireless journalist since 2009, he documented Gaza's daily reality despite suffering from a rare chronic illness. Hassan Esslayeh is now one of 215 journalists killed by Israel in Gaza since October 7th, 2023.

From Wall St to the City of London - our finance, insurance and banking systems are built on chattel slavery. Even the concept of the modern corporation was based on this exploitation.

But it didn’t stop with abolition in 1833.

According to a paper published in New Political Economy, the Global South has lost $152 trillion in wealth to the Global North since 1960 alone. Extracted, in part, by the same institutions.

These are the very same entities that now dump sewage in our water, make profit from the care of our elderly and price gouge the public on everything from energy to food.

Reparatory justice is a class issue. It affects all of us and rebuilding something better starts… with an apology.
