Despite blogging daily for 5+ years, I still don’t know how to do the technicals on my website.
Now Wordpress no longer automatically tweets my new blog posts, which is annoying and frustrating.

@mattshumer_ I’ve been using AI regularly for more mundane tasks - not creating apps. Editing, some writing assistance, market research.
It consistently fails to deliver quality.
I asked it to interpret test results and it said I had conditions I don’t have.
I’m not sold on the hype.
@SahilBloom Burnout has never been about mere fatigue or the result of long hours.
Plenty of people work long hours without burning out.
Burnout happens when you lose meaning and purpose in your work.
It’s an energy alignment mismatch.
I’ve been using ChatGPT and Claude to help with writing and some upcoming project over the last few months. TBH the experience sucks. It’s a huge energy drain to go back and forth with them It triples my time on any project and it’s beyond frustrating. The hype is over blown
I’m a single woman with no kids, with ADHD going thru perimenopause and I’m disillusioned with America. I see no paths to prosperity for me, nobody advocating for my needs, no policies or protections for women like me.
The Trump years were the worst + now we have more. I can’t.
I wrote this on November 9, 2016.
This morning I woke up with the same feeling I had in my body on that morning.
I don’t watch news. I didn’t read news. My body told me.
I just reread this. And it still fits.

I’m trying to use @notion more but it has a major flaw: no offline mode.
I can’t access my notes/projects/sheets without cell or WiFi service. The app becomes useless.
Which is why @draftsapp is still my go-to. Always access to my notes there and can work with them anytime.
I just learned about “dopamine menus” and are you fucking kidding me with this?
As someone with ADHD there is nothing worse than being in a low dopamine state and facing a menu of options that requires me to make a decision.
It’s so backward I can’t even.
Emotional Dissonance = when your current emotional state isn’t aligned with the emotions/energy you believe you need for a task.
B/c folks w #ADHD don’t “compartmentalize” well, ED can block action.
It’s ONE CAUSE of #ADHDparalysis.
Would love to hear if this resonates.
I’ve coined a new term: Emotional Dissonance
This is when your current emotional state isn’t aligned with the emotions you believe you need to take action on something.
It’s like the opposite of impulsivity with #ADHD

This week I celebrated my 11 year anniversary of my Fitness First ritual.
I start every day with a workout.
For 11 years.
Lately I’ve been crushing my PRs too, which feels good.
But the best reward by far is learning to love the process.
AMA …
@thesamparr FWIW: As long as you are fighting the “inner fat kid” you’re setting yourself up to lose the game.
Start with a new identity:
A healthy dad. An athlete. Whatever.
Make your choices from that persona. Become that person.
I’m in week 4 without my normal ADHD meds and it’s really messed w my rhythms
Yet somehow I have managed to still publish a daily blog and put this newsletter together (which I repurposed into today’s blog) and TBH I think it’s so good. Read it here

Child free adults create a lower carbon footprint by not contributing to overpopulation and overconsumption.
We often cover for colleagues who need to care for their kids.
Where’s our tax break or incentive?
Or any recognition for our contribution to society?
@cwebber@editingemily Also impossible to quit when you’re self-employed. I’ve burned out so often in my career both as a big law associate then as an independent contractor (real estate agent) and coaching/consulting. Landed me in huge debt and I’m still struggling to find my way years later.
@canva My suggestions are that you focus on app user experience and not weigh down your once innovative tool with a lot of features that don’t even work.
What used to be a quick process of creating now takes a lot longer.
Hey @canva instead of bloating your product with so many features nobody needs how about cleaning up the user experience in your apps?
It’s become impossible to create in the app.
@AliAbdaal@Voicepal_me I’ve used regular ChatGPT for this.
Just talking out ideas and asking it to prompt me with questions or give me feedback on what I’m saying.
How is your app different?
What’s it solving?
@AliAbdaal@Voicepal_me I just downloaded to try it out. Is there a user guide?
What are “presets”? I’d love to have an example of it.
How do you turn the recording into something else?
So far just feels like a less intuitive version of standard ChatGPT.
@AliAbdaal@Voicepal_me Let’s put an end to the myth that
“Nobody gets speakers block”
It devalues the experience of people who struggle with stuttering, speech paralysis, stage fright, etc.
I write a daily blog, speak + teach in public, but I become mute with a voice recorder.
@Win_Win_Women@lailachima They tell me so.
And I am grateful when others hold that space for me.
I won’t even consider a course/offering that doesn’t include that. That’s where the real value is in any offering. Even if you’re teaching how to blog.
