Francis J. Myers Rec Center has been a vital community hub in SW Philly for generations, giving friends, neighbors, and kids a place to learn, connect, and play.

Thank you to everyone who joined our town hall at Lima Estates retirement community! I always enjoy hearing from constituents about their concerns and having honest conversations about the best course forward for PA05 and our country as a whole. DHS is arresting fewer drug traffickers ... because it's too busy arresting law-abiding au pairs and pizza shop owners, parents of US Marines, and other people who have entered the country legally and are trying to follow our rules - but our system is so broken that their applications never get heard.

Today’s Supreme Court decision could unnecessarily create chaos and confusion weeks before ballots should be mailed.

Despite the Court’s meddling, the decision today does not give the President power he does not have in how states run their elections. The Executive Order is still not lawful and the power to regulate elections belongs only to Congress and the states.

I was proud to join the Sisters of St Francis as they led a prayer vigil at the ICE facility in Philadelphia. New Sanctuary Movement of Philadelphia has been organizing these interfaith vigils every week since last fall to urge that our immigrant neighbors be treated with justice and dignity.

In January, an ICE agent shot and killed Renée Good through her car window.

Last week, a masked agent pointed a gun through another U.S. citizen’s car window, falsely claiming she tried to run him over. Her dashcam debunked that lie. ICE has proven its agents don’t tell the truth.

Accountability starts with mandatory body worn cameras and compulsory public disclosure of all footage of incidents.
