Actions speak louder than words. Donald Trump has demonstrated his disregard for America and Americans by stripping away healthcare, nutrition assistance, and making life more expensive.
Renaming a Great Lake isn’t patriotic. It’s childish, weak, and pathetic. I look forward to working with @HouseDemocrats to overturn this ridiculous executive order.

On August 28, 1963, hundreds of thousands of Americans gathered in Washington, D.C., to demand jobs, freedom, and equality. 63 years later, House Democrats honor the legacy of those who marched by continuing the fight for a better America.
Francis J. Myers Rec Center has been a vital community hub in SW Philly for generations, giving friends, neighbors, and kids a place to learn, connect, and play.
I was honored to join state and local officials and the neighborhood in celebrating its renovation and reopening. I was pleased to secure federal funding to support the ongoing renovations of its athletic fields and look forward to my next visit.
Local leaders face community challenges firsthand, and their perspective is critical to our work in Congress.
Grateful for the chance to talk with 20+ local officials at Delaware County Consortium of Governments’ monthly meeting about the issues they’re navigating, from affordable housing and funding emergency services to how we can work together to answer the concerns of our local communities.
Thank you to everyone who joined our town hall at Lima Estates retirement community! I always enjoy hearing from constituents about their concerns and having honest conversations about the best course forward for PA05 and our country as a whole. We had great discussions ranging from federal budget negotiations and how to reduce the deficit, to immigration enforcement, Social Security solvency, underfunding of our National Parks, and investments in the Philadelphia Shipyard and workforce development.
I had the chance to check out the Eagles training camp yesterday, including a visit with Swoop! As always, we're rooting for a successful season ahead. Go Birds!🦅💚
DHS is arresting fewer drug traffickers ... because it's too busy arresting law-abiding au pairs and pizza shop owners, parents of US Marines, and other people who have entered the country legally and are trying to follow our rules - but our system is so broken that their applications never get heard.
Real national security comes when our immigration system works - not when it's used as a political prop to create chaos and violate basic human rights.
A DHS IG report says HSI has had to cut back on fentanyl ops because the Trump admin prioritized busting migrants.
Related? CBP's border seizures of fentanyl are still declining—but less than before:
Oct 23-Jul 24: -26% from Oct 22-Jul 23
Oct 24-Jul 25: -41%
Oct 25-Jul 26: -12%
I got to meet Philly’s favorite crossing guard last night! Thinking of all the students, dedicated teachers, crossing guards, and school employees as school begins again. Wishing everyone a fantastic year! https://t.co/0WpgZHCNn8
For more than 50 years, Women’s Way has worked to advance gender equity. We met recently to discuss our shared interests in legislation to promote economic security, reproductive freedom, workplace equality, and dignity for all.
For generations, schoolchildren have memorized the names of the Great Lakes using the pneumonic HOMES (Huron, Ontario, Michigan, Erie, Superior). If Trump follows through on his stupid threat, HOMES will aptly become SHAME.

Today’s Supreme Court decision could unnecessarily create chaos and confusion weeks before ballots should be mailed.
Despite the Court’s meddling, the decision today does not give the President power he does not have in how states run their elections. The Executive Order is still not lawful and the power to regulate elections belongs only to Congress and the states.
On the 110th anniversary of our National Parks and the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding, we should all be committed to preserving our national history and the unique natural resources in our national parks - not reallocating national park funds for vanity projects that Americans never asked for or approved, like ballrooms and arches https://t.co/U8MGkJSWL0
Not so fast. Today’s SCOTUS decision does NOT deal with the substance of Trump’s unconstitutional Executive Order and does not mean his illegal attempt to restrict mail-in voting will go forward.
Donald Trump does not run elections here in Pennsylvania — or in any state.
We’ll see the Trump Administration in court. In the meantime, I'll keep defending Pennsylvanians' right to free, fair, and secure elections.
Norm Eisen of Democracy Defenders Fund: “Please don't overreact to Roberts Court decision on the contemplated USPS ballot moves
They simply held that the injunction came too early in the process, before there was a final rule.
Now we HAVE a final rule & we will litigate it.”

Team Scanlon joined PIDC, SEPTA, and other partners to celebrate the upcoming start of service on the Route 45 bus extension! Beginning August 23, SEPTA will now run the Route 45 bus to the Navy Yard seven days a week — bringing reliable, regular public transit service to the Navy Yard for the first time in over a decade. Public investments like this are essential to the Navy Yard's continued growth, with 16,000+ employees on the campus and an expanding residential community!
I joined the Ardmore Business District for a tour. It was exciting to see the latest developments as Ardmore continues to build a vibrant community with inclusive businesses, historic architecture, and newly renovated and accessible public transit!
In 2016, Trump said he’d get rid of the national debt “fairly quickly.”
A decade later, America’s debt just hit $40 TRILLION.
The Republican One Big Ugly Bill adds over $4 trillion alone—all to shamefully give tax breaks to billionaires and corporations.
I was proud to join the Sisters of St Francis as they led a prayer vigil at the ICE facility in Philadelphia. New Sanctuary Movement of Philadelphia has been organizing these interfaith vigils every week since last fall to urge that our immigrant neighbors be treated with justice and dignity.
In January, an ICE agent shot and killed Renée Good through her car window.
Last week, a masked agent pointed a gun through another U.S. citizen’s car window, falsely claiming she tried to run him over. Her dashcam debunked that lie. ICE has proven its agents don’t tell the truth.
Accountability starts with mandatory body worn cameras and compulsory public disclosure of all footage of incidents.
