Through @HouseAppropsGOP, we secured funding to develop a countywide Resiliency Hub that will improve disaster preparedness, expand emergency shelter and feeding capabilities, and support long-term recovery efforts.

More than $3.1 million in DOT grant funding is headed to Western North Carolina:

✔️$2.56 million for roadway and entrance improvements at Asheville Regional Airport
✔️$585,000 for a connection to the I-26 Connector Project

These investments will help ensure our infrastructure keeps pace with the needs of our growing region.

Agribusiness Henderson County supports more than 250 farms and agribusinesses across our region.

During their annual dinner, we heard from local farmers and community leaders. I also updated folks on how we're delivering for NC-11 agriculture in Washington by:
👨‍🌾Raising the estate tax exemption to $30 million to protect family farms
🌽Advancing nearly $30 billion for farmers and rural communities in the FY27 Agriculture bill
🍎Introducing the Advance TAP Payments Act — now included in the 2026 Farm Bill — to help orchardists and nursery growers access upfront recovery funding after natural disasters like Helene

🚨 USDA’s latest announcement brings $127,888 to the Town of Hot Springs in Madison County. This funding replaces 148 pieces of critical equipment destroyed across the town hall, police department, and maintenance facilities, getting essential services back up and running for hundreds of Madison County residents.

As America marks its 250th anniversary, the Problem Solvers Caucus is proud to unveil our bipartisan Gerrymandering Reform Framework to strengthen trust in our democracy.

The framework includes four bipartisan reforms to create a more transparent, fair, and representative congressional redistricting process nationwide.

Our proposal is built on a simple premise: voters should choose their representatives, not the other way around, and achieving that requires both parties to be part of the solution.

Every year, the Coalition for Recreational Trails recognizes projects that set the standard for future trail investments.

This year, that recognition went to Kara McMullen of Friends of Panthertown, who used a federal Recreational Trails Program grant to train 17 trail professionals across North Carolina in sustainable trail design. Her work, along with the more than $13.2 million the program has invested in NC-11 since 1981, is helping improve and maintain trails across Western North Carolina.
