🚨 BREAKING: My bill to name the CBP Air and Marine Operations Mayagüez Unit in Puerto Rico after Agent Michel O. Maceda, who tragically lost his life in the line of duty, passed the Senate unanimously and is headed to the president’s desk to be signed in to law.

We will always be thankful for the bravery of Marine Interdiction Agent Michel O. Maceda, who dedicated his life to protecting Puerto Rico and our nation’s borders. I want to thank my colleagues in the Senate and Representative @RepJenniffer for their support and unanimously voting to name CBP Air and Marine Operations Mayagüez Unit in Puerto Rico after him to ensure his bravery, service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

The House approved the FY 2025 NDAA, which authorizes $39 million for construction of an Advanced Skills Training Barracks in Fort Buchanan, extends authorization for projects in the Ramey Army Reserve Center & Fort Allen, & provisions to improve the life of our servicemembers.

I am pleased that the Economic Development Administration recognizes the critical need to support Puerto Rico’s recovery and small business growth. This investment is a lifeline for entrepreneurs who have faced immense challenges after Hurricane Fiona, providing them with the training, resources, and funding necessary to succeed. I commend Friends of Puerto Rico for their dedication to fostering economic growth and resilience in our communities. This $600,000 grant from EDA will be instrumental in helping Friends of Puerto Rico to continue empowering other small businesses in Aguadilla and across the region by providing them with essential training, education, and access to funding.
