Today's Assembly agenda is focused on education, including a bill that requires schools to incorporate civics education into elementary through high school grades. Bills are also being taken up prohibit the teaching & training of highly divisive concepts on racism & sexism.
We’re excited to announce that we’re officially the Lakeshore Technical College Snow Leopards!
Now we’re running a contest to name our new mascot! If you have an idea for what LTC’s mascot should be named, complete this form by noon on 9/28/21: https://t.co/1dnjtjAo4L
It was great meeting with the Arch Electric team in Plymouth this AM. They were recently named WI’s #1 rooftop solar contractor.
@RepVorpagel and I were happy to present them with a citation in recognition of the amazing work they're doing in our area. Keep up the great work!
And @repvorpagel also joined the show to explain why sports betting in Wisconsin will likely be decided through gaming compacts with the state rather than one sweeping piece of legislation from lawmakers: https://t.co/sEd8cd7r8E @SpectrumNews1WI (3/3)
Once again, Republicans have led the way and sent Governor Evers a budget that was too good to pass up. When he wanted to raise taxes on hardworking Wisconsin families just 6 months ago, we turned around and cut taxes by $3.4 billion.
Today, @WIAssemblyGOP & @WisSenGOP will make significant investments in our student's education! Year after year, Wisconsin Republicans have invested in our schools and, more importantly, our kids.
On the floor today, we'll be taking up a resolution from @rep_august and I. We saw firsthand that it is a true national security and humanitarian crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border - we need leadership from @VP and @GovEvers, and we need it now.
Today's call for action at our southern border shouldn't be a partisan issue. Read more from TX Sheriff Joe Frank Martinez - a self-proclaimed "proud Democrat" - who we spoke with while touring the border.
"I know there's a crisis. We are living it." https://t.co/F4QLrnTeeC
Thank you to my colleagues for raising awareness to this national security issue that needs to be addressed by all 50 States if @VP refuses to address it
Last week, @rep_august & I visited the U.S.-Mexico Border to see firsthand the humanitarian and security crisis that has unfolded under the leadership of @VP. https://t.co/072UHhBiPg
.@GovEvers vetoing our bills sends a clear message to the people of Wisconsin that they will have little to no say in how their federal tax dollars are spent. He has once again rejected the opportunity to work w/ legislators on a basic spending plan. This is not good government.
Assembly Republicans released a package of bills that prioritize where the $3.2 billion in state discretionary funds from the from the American Recue Plan Act of 2021 should go to best help Wisconsinites. The bills will be discussed in committees this week.
