Early years teacher, trainer, consultant and storyteller. I believe there is nothing more important than how adults respond to babies and young children.
By the time babies are 1 year old, they have learned a key Life Lesson. "When I need help, will someone come?" The answer they have discovered -- Yes or No -- becomes built into their biology. Their subsequent development is built on that foundation. #Attachment

Wish people wd stop saying gloomily that it took Tv to get the subpostmasters to the top of the agenda. This is (as Libby Purves has said I think) the real power of arts and drama (expertise that is being starved of funding) Message is: we need to fund the arts.
The tragic terrible news has come to me that Benjamin Zephaniah's family have announced that Benjamin has died. I'm devastated. I admired him, respected him, learnt from him, loved him. Love and condolences to the family and to all who loved him too.
I just signed the Time for Change petition calling on @UKGOV to improve the law and make England and Wales a hunting free zone. Will you sign too? https://t.co/2Tbk8UUgMl via @38degrees
@NickyBenedetti speaks wise, wise words here. Great shame her interview was interrupted by a 'technical issue' @BBCr4today Please broadcast this interview again live on air, with no interruptions.
Here’s longer version of our interview with @NickyBenedetti from this morning’s programme, guest edited by members of the Dunbartonshire Concert Band.
Unfortunately the live broadcast was interrupted by a technical issue.

My new campaign, Say #Maaate to a Mate, is a single word to stop misogynistic language in its tracks.

You can see very clearly t help ths child has been given in knowng what to DO with t big feelings in her body. Adults helped her figure out how to RELATE to those feelings - how to relate to HERSELF. This is what an attachment-, trauma-aware approach looks like. @paulinescott222
Everyday I support families getting kids into school. Every single day. I pick kids up, I bring them to school. Every Single Day.
Mainly due to the failure of every other service.
Schools can’t keep picking up the pieces of a broken system.
