@MercyMuroki Could the difference in reaction depend on whether one settled in the UK or was born here? I I don't mind being asked but I can see why frequently answering this question becomes a frustration for someone born and raised here.
@jennwadford @stepville I assume that she was happy with the gift and tracked her progress on her goals in the year. She got her husband to watch the videos a year later with her. I assume those are things she is doing, not being made to do. But, it seems married women have no agency or individuality.
@JECrtis @stepville The assumption seems to be that the woman in the ad has no personal agency. All she is doing and saying is commissioned by the husband. It's a scary revelation of how people that are offended about the ad think about women (particularly about married women).
